24.01.2022 GAIETY THEATRE TOUR | 20-21 November 2020 What an amazing weekend for our First Official Tours at the Majestic Gaiety Theatre in Zeehan Tasmania. Firstly I wo...uld like to thank all our wonderful guests who joined us from all over Tassie for attending our first official tours at the Gaiety Theatre and for supporting not only Tasmania’s Most Haunted but supporting the West Coast Heritage Centre and the many local businesses in the area. Our guests did have some amazing experiences throughout the weekend with our EMF detectors, REMPOD’s, Divining Rods, 360 Parascope, light sensor balls and our Ghosts of the Gaiety appeared to enjoy our Music Box. We did experience some unusual sounds coming from within the Theatre which also included some knocking on command responses. We will keep monitoring these knocking noises over the coming months to see if we can explain where these noises are coming from. Some guests felt many cold spots throughout the Theatre with one guest describing she felt like the touch of a cold hand on her back while others felt like a cold breeze brush past their face. We also had one guest feel the sensation of a finger running along the back on her neck while experimenting in the Mini Theatre room. What makes this interesting is one of the employees of the current building attended a later tour and when questioned had she experienced anything unusual during her time working here and one of her common experiences was the sensation of a finger running along the back of her neck. Coincidence? Other experiences including seeing many Dark Shadows darting around the Stage area while others witnessed bright white sparks in the Auditorium when we were seated in the top balcony. We also had the smell of burning cigars and tobacco during one tour while others could smell the burning of rubber on another tour. Overall, we had some amazing experiences at the Gaiety, and I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have their own experiences to tell. Our next tour of the Gaiety Theatre will be held on the 11-12 December 2020, but unfortunately all Tickets have SOLD OUT for this weekends event. We will be releasing more dates for 2021 very soon and we hope you can join us as we explore this Majestic Theatre as we attempt to find our Whom or What are the GHOSTS OF THE GAIETY West Coast Heritage Centre, Zeehan #tasmaniasmosthaunted #westcoastheritagecentre #ghostsofgaiety #gaietytheatrezeehan #zeehan #westcoasttasmania #tasmania

10.01.2022 It is with great regret we announce the retirement of long-time West Coast Heritage director, Mr. Ray ‘’Shorty’’ Keating. Ray’s hard work, dedication, and passion for the Zeehan community and the preservation of our history and heritage has been of great value to West Coast Heritage and the West Coast community. Over his 20 years of service Ray has worked on many projects such as renovating the Frank Long Memorial; creating our Koonya Retreat Pioneers hut; developing the und...erground mine simulation, smelting and blacksmith workshop; restoring the Murchison locomotive; creating a model village; as well as general maintenance and upkeep projects. Ray’s charitable efforts and infectious enthusiasm in helping the community thrive and celebrate itself has been invaluable. We wish Ray all the best in his future endeavours, and are extremely thankful for his unwavering dedication. See more
