25.01.2022 Friday's lunch was a top pulled pork by Andrew (never to be beaten) and matched with a 2006 Styx Gully Chardonnay. Sorting through our cellar for our Museum Release wall has lead to the discovery of gems like these; the winner of the 2008 Reserve Champion at the International Wine Competition in the USA. While we don't have enough of these to sell, the follow up 2013, 2014 and 2015 are pretty worthy!

24.01.2022 Today is our coffee roasting day! If you're visiting on a Tuesday, you'll be able to smell the roaster in action before grabbing a coffee or a bag of beans, available everyday at our cellar door. And if you're not lucky enough to make it down this way, you can order through our website so you can enjoy a cup at home @robaemery

23.01.2022 After 13 years of phenomenal wines, Nick Stacy is moving on from the Vinaceous brand to start his new wine adventure. The partnership group, including Gavin and Mike Kerrigan from @hayshedhill, will continue to make wines under the Vinaceous label, utilising the excellent fruit sources that will remain. A bonus of this continued partnership is that we will have specials pop up in our cellar door from time to time. Stop in or call the winery for Salome Rose, Raconteur Cabernet Sauvignon and Divine Light Riesling at $120 per case (plus delivery costs) for a short time only. Anyone that knows these wines, knows that this is seriously good value.

23.01.2022 What a weekend! If you were down this way, you may have seen our Museum Release rack start to fill up (then empty again). With a good selection our Mount Barker Riesling, Styx Gully Chardonnay, Two Steps Shiraz and Book Ends Cabernet Sauvignon, ranging from 2011 to 2015, there is something for everyone. Being able to purchase great value aged wines is even more of a reason to stop in for a visit!

20.01.2022 Wine lover and fishing enthusiast Kaye Robson shared this wonderful photo with us of a bottle of West Cape Howe Pinot Grigio, on a balmy Friday night at the beach. I don't think it gets much better than this! The warm weather is welcome down to the Great Southern whenever it's ready!

19.01.2022 GOLD GOLD GOLD...and a Trophy to match! We had a very fruitful evening on Friday picking up the trophy for Best Rosé at the 2020 Perth Royal Wine Awards. Our 2018 Hanna's Hill Cabernet Malbec and soon to be released 2018 Two Steps Shiraz were awarded Gold in their very competitive classes. Well done team!

16.01.2022 With a long weekend coming up, we've decided to bring some special wines out of hibernation. Gavin is currently rifling through, reminiscing about the vintages gone by and putting a Museum Release list together for our cellar door customers. Watch this space...

15.01.2022 We've had two wines make it into Ray Jordan's Top 100 reds! What a way to end the week Of the 2018 Hanna's Hill Cabernet Malbec: "This is brimming with sweet dark fruit flavours balanced with fine firmish tannins and a neat line of oak. Great combo that works brilliantly from Frankland River, where the malbec especially is so good." 93 points ... Of the 2018 Cabernet Merlot: "Always a consistent blend. Bright and leafy with abundant cabernet character, neatly complemented by some nice fleshy merlot. Understated oak and fine tannins in support." 89 points

14.01.2022 After 6 years of dedicated service, today we say goodbye to Andrew Vesey. He's been an important part of West Cape Howe's success over the years with multiple trophies and medals won during his time as Winemaker. We're not sure we'll have much of a chance to miss him though as his daily drive to the new job takes him past our cellar door and the coffee machine! Best of luck

12.01.2022 The sun is shining, the kitchen is open, the coffee machine is working and the power is back on! Bring the kids and let them enjoy the expansive lawns while you sip your way through our wine list. Happy Friday! @robaemery

12.01.2022 Now's the time to start bargaining with your Dad for Sunday; he helps with the cooking and you bring the wine

12.01.2022 If you need an excuse for a dinner out this week, let this be it!

11.01.2022 Enjoy the sun this weekend! We'll be having a bottle of the 2020 Rosé and making the most of the lovely spring weather @oliver_berry

11.01.2022 The reviews in the newly released 2021 Halliday Wine Companion has been kind to us once again! We are very lucky to have access to some of the best fruit in the Great Southern, allowing us to make wines that people love to drink at every price point

10.01.2022 Our 2020 Porongurup Riesling is now on tasting and available through cellar door and online! The 2019 picked up a trophy for Best Riesling in Australia and this follow on is up to the same award winning standard.

10.01.2022 Here's one of our small batch wines that you can find on our website, at cellar door or in selected independent retailers

10.01.2022 Pruning season is in full swing and the vineyard team is out there working hard, rain, hail or shine. This particular vine is sauvignon blanc in Block 14 on the Langton property, home to our winery and cellar door. The fruit from here is destined for our 2021 Regional Range Sauvignon Blanc. We'll check back in the lead up to the next vintage to see how this vine develops over the seasons.

09.01.2022 If you're planning a visit down this way, please be aware that we are without power tomorrow, Thursday the 8th October. We will still be doing wine tastings and sales but our kitchen and facilities will be closed. Spare a thought for our cellar door staff going a day without coffee. We are back to full power on Friday and look forward to seeing you across the weekend!

08.01.2022 The weekend is a perfect time to crack open something special from the cellar. What will you be opening? @robaemery

08.01.2022 If you're heading down this way for the school holidays, don't forget to stop in and stock up! We're open everyday for wine tastings, food and coffee @robaemery

07.01.2022 How do you guarantee a tasty Friday lunch? Give Gavin the Thursday arvo task of doing a delivery to the bottle shop where the IGA next door is known for its great specials on pork shoulder. The rest will take care of itself. With the sun shining for a good 5 minutes, it was all the excuse we needed to match it with a bottle of the 2020 Porongurup Riesling.

06.01.2022 Keep an eye out for the 2014 King Billy Cabernet Sauvignon, available now at independent retailers. We only produce a small amount of this wine, selecting the four best Cabernet barrels from standout vintages. Anyone who knows this wine, knows it sells out quickly so call the winery if you'd like help to track it down! @robaemery

03.01.2022 We've had a great write up by Good Food for our 2018 West Cape Howe Shiraz. Descriptors like these just make me think of dinner and what I can cook tonight to pair with this cracker wine. What's your go-to meal to serve with a shiraz?

03.01.2022 We love all these little signs that Spring is on its way. The days are getting that bit longer, winemaker Andrew has been wearing shorts to work and now we have bud burst in our chardonnay block! After healthy winter rains and more to come in Spring, we can't wait for some warmer days adrienneq99
