25.01.2022 Researchers have identified 34 distinct cotton bud types from a pile of 13,955 cotton buds collected off Shelly Beach. Cotton Buds vary in colour, length, thick...ness, transparency, knurling and ridges. What can this information tell us? The cotton buds have not come from one place/source that uses one distinctive brand of cotton bud and that the sources are many but the pathway (people improperly flushing cotton buds) remains the same. Will you be a Better Bud? https://bit.ly/3iO2Sh4 See more

22.01.2022 Your chance to save the world again! Make a submission by August 31 to the Victorian Inquiry into Ecosystem Decline in Victoria. Tell them: How do you feel about biodiversity loss and species heading towards extinction? Do you think Government is doing enough? How can Government, Agriculture, Industry, Tourism, everyone do better? How urgent is the problem? How are climate change, bush fires, urban sprawl, pollution, old growth forest logging, etc making things worse ...for our fauna and flora? You don't have to be an expert. Just tell the Government what you think and how you feel. It can be as short or as long as you want. If you want to see an example, message us and we'll send Bruce Campbell's personal submission. Email yur submission to [email protected] All submissions should include: Your full name Contact details (either a postal address or phone number) The text of your submission or an attachment containing your submission A clear indication if you are seeking confidentiality

20.01.2022 Are you a business that uses plastic-stemmed cotton buds? This single-use plastic is littering our beaches and harming our oceans. But there is an easy fix! Become a Better Buds Business https://www.betterbuds.org.au/better-buds-business

14.01.2022 Soggy Homes: the Wonder of Wetlands at @warrnamboolartgallery Celebrating the Southwest wetlands and the threatened species that inhabit them. My hope for thi...s exhibition is that people come away learning a little about the southwest landscape , the value of wetlands and some of the lesser known species that are struggling to survive in them but mostly I hope kids have fun and literally embrace these big critters. Huge thanks to @natureglenelgtrust for valuable guidance and knowledge in particular my swamp hippie @lachie_farrington, the WAG team for their faith and support and my little family for patience through this crazy year. 11.01.2022 Please share with your networks as a timely reminder that what you see of a dog breed in a movie isn't an accurate representation of their characteristics. Thank you.

11.01.2022 There's a working bee at Harris Street, opposite the Woollen Mill this Thursday morning, 9-11am. It's a long site, easy to social distance according to whatever the restrictions are by then. Bring gloves and remember that the UV is creeping back up again so slip, slop, slap.

06.01.2022 "We have an Act that doesn't prevent extinction, even though that is the primary national Act to conserve our unique biodiversity. 7.7 million hectares of habitat has been cleared since 2000, and over 93% of this wasn't even referred to the federal government under the Act."

05.01.2022 #Repost from the co-founder of @sealegacy and a great friend the incredible @paulnicklen Absolutely stunning footage of a Mom and Baby Humpback Whale! @jim_abe...rnethy --- // There are some breath-hold dives where the experience is so mesmerizing I completely forget about the burning sensation in my lungs. This was one of those occasions. As the whale song of a distant male reverberated through my body, this devoted mother humpback basked in the warm waters off the coast of Tonga patiently waiting for her baby to grow, and building strength for the long journey back to their feeding grounds in Antarctica. I bid a silent farewell before gently floating to the surface so as not to disturb them. With @scott.portelli and @kyle.roepke in Tonga under Special Interaction Permit (Regulation 13) from the Ministry of Tonga. Enjoy but Please Protect! @jim_abernethy @wildlifevoiceinc @sealegacy #whale #humpback #calf #mother #baby #tonga #underwater #freedive #wildlife #nature #naturelovers #gratitude #breathless
