22.01.2022 In 2021, you should aim to be like a fridge. No, not cold. Magnetic In other words? Drawing those leads to you with a strong offer or lead magnet. It needs to be something that adds *real* value for your audience. That can mean making their lives easier, solving a problem, educating or entertaining them. So where should you start? ... Think about your audience personas. Who are they and what are their pain-points? The key here is that your different audiences may have different priorities, and might respond better to a different offer. Once you’ve come up with an initial idea, listen to your audience to make sure it’s what they really want. Listen via social media (eavesdropping in industry Facebook groups is a great place to start!) and chat to your customer service team to find out what they most want help with. Don’t make your audience sweat too hard to get the value out of your lead magnet content! Aim for something that gives them almost immediate value, like quick tips or templates they can implement straight away. Anything that they have to work too hard for may mean lower conversions for you. And finally, a good lead magnet needs a good landing page to really drive conversions, so make sure your landing page isn’t an afterthought. Recently Lindsay Bruce, the marketing manager of SMB at Twitter stated that: It’s always a good idea to read the room before posting on social, but this year (in 2020) it became especially critical. Before every Tweet, I looked at the day’s headlines, trending conversations and looked to see if/how other brands were engaging. ... After a year of an ever-changing evolving pandemic, and social and political events that were felt around the world, it will pay for brands to read the (metaphorical) room before posting.
