07.01.2022 You’ve got to try and stay positive. Despite everything that has happened, I really believe that good things are coming, and life is turning around for me. Right now, I’m grateful to have a roof over my head and I’m focusing on working and living. I want to save up as much money as possible and move forward with my life - Keijo. We love this message Keijo shared with us along with his employment journey which has involved a serious and permeant motorbike injury and homeles...sness. Keijo is now thriving in his role with Don KRC and supported by his WDEA Works Bendigo Employment Consultant Luke. 05.01.2022 After a lifetime of involvement in his local community, Dennis Barnett has been elected by the WDEA Works Committee of Management (COM) as its new Chairperson. Based in Bendigo, Dennis has served the Committee for three years as a member and Treasurer. The appointment took place at WDEA Works’ 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 28th October when previous Chair Mary Graham stepped down from her position.... Mary has served as Chairperson since 2015, elected to the role after the retirement of long-standing CEO Mick White. Mary graciously extended her term as Chair for the past twelve months, providing stability and support for our incoming CEO Tom Scarborough. Mary is WDEA Works’ longest-serving existing COM Member and has provided invaluable insights into the governance of the organisation, playing an integral role in its continued growth. We thank Mary for her incredible contribution and congratulate Dennis on his appointment. Click the link to read more. https://www.wdeaworks.org.au//wdea-works-welcomes-new-chair

01.01.2022 Today commences Transgender (Trans) Awareness Week Nov 13-20. This week celebrates trans and gender diverse communities. It is also a great opportunity to educate ourselves and those around us about gender diversity. This week concludes with Trans Day of Remembrance (Nov 20th), a chance to celebrate those who have fought for trans rights and to honour people who have lost their lives due to violence and discrimination.
