13.01.2022 Holden We were very lucky to race in the early 2000s. If Holden didnt support all levels of the sport we would not have been out there. To help us go racing... they supplied cars, first the Holden Vectra then the Holden Astra. Paid our entry fees for 2 years and supplied us with Technical support, motors, gearboxes & panels. At the Clipsal 500 they even let us steal the engine mount and a drive shaft out of a display car. The poor lady who bought the car the week after had to wait weeks to get a replacement driveshaft that had the correct spline. Every race was still a battle to fund. Sometimes we could only afford 1 tyre per event but Holden rewarded us when we won and gave panels when we crashed. Through Bilstein Shock Absorbers and Marty Brant Independent Race Cars came the chance to work on a team that lead to the fulfillment of a dream. So thank you Holden for being part of it all and supporting Teams big and small. Great times!

We have had contacted from some of the group that are keen to come along and join the Tour Section for the rally. ... We are able to take a Group of 10 so now is the time to get your road car, high performance or register race car out and join the Australian Tarmac Rally. No roll cage required, just a helmet and a roadworthy car This event is close to melbourne based out of Marysvillle, The Great Tarmac Rally event drives the great roads of Lake Mountain, Cambarville, the Reefton Spur and the Big River Road. These roads are closed for you to enjoy the tight sweeping corners. Message us for a price if you are keen to join the WD Motorsport Tour group on The Great Tarmac Rally. We will supply Tour Leader, Driver Trainers and help you through the sign in process, vehicle checks and set up on the Friday Night at check in.

05.01.2022 Holidays are coming to an end Drivers and it is time to dust off the cars and hit the windy roads. Mt Baw Baw is the 3rd Round of the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship and the WD Motorsport Touring Super Sprint Is for you and your road car. Its heaps of kms on closed roads between Icy Crk and the Mt Baw Baw Summit stopping st Tanjil Bren along the way. After a great day driving join all the drivers and navigators from the competition class for dinner at the Alpine Hote...l and tell stories about the days driving. Then line up on Sunday again for the longer none stop runs up and down the mountain. Remember Mt Baw Baw is the steepest incline in Australia challenging all drivers and navigators alike. Remember all you need is a road car, a helmet, long sleeves and pants to run. Open to all levels from beginners up. All cars modern, classic & supercars.

03.01.2022 Watch out! The ATRC WD Motorsport Touring Super Sprint Bug is contagious. Geoff Thorp has been a car nut for as long as he can remember. He has fond memories of pulling his bike apart as a child, and following his dad around, who was into the Holden Commodore scene for a number of years.His passion for cars went from being a spectator, to regularly participating in Tour events, as part of the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship.I heard about the event and went along as a... spectator a number of years ago and loved what I saw, Geoff said.It was a great mix of cars, and a great level of camaraderie and openness that was shown. At that time I was looking at it as a potential competitor and what WD Motorsport and Mountain Motorsport and the guys had organised, really looked like something that would be fun to be a part of.Four years later and Geoff admits hes hooked, and it hasnt cost him a lot to participate. He has a blast in his 1989 Peugeot 405 Mi16.The event, especially the Tour group is most definitely suitable for your daily drive, Geoff said.You dont need the most powerful car in the world. Its not about having the fastest or newest or most expensive car. Its understanding your own vehicle and its limits and your own limits as well. We have lots of fun. The competitors might think of us (Tour group) as the poor cousin, but we think its great to be part of the competition group, following them through the stages and mingling with them during the breaks.Geoff lives in the Yarra Valley in Melbourne and is acutely aware of the amazing roads on his doorstep, as well as further afield that is part of the appeal of competing in the ATRC Tour.Were lucky to live around some of the best roads in Victoria, Geoff said.The areas where we go to, its beautiful mountain country side, unique Australian country roads and generally located near some pretty spectacular locations.Were lucky to have those roads closed off, so we can enjoy them in a private, safe setting.Although Geoff has competed in several Tours, the next event the Mt Baw Baw Sprint will be new to him.I did a recce up there a few weeks ago and Im really excited to get on that road and see what its like.I couldnt get over the hill climb.
