10.01.2022 Flexible Work Laws Change Today! The Fair Work Commission announced changes to flexible work laws that start today. From 1 December 2018, employers need to make a genuine attempt to reach an agreement on flexible work arrangements, and record detailed reasons for refusals. Workers don’t have an uninhibited right to their flexible work request, but the new clause requires employers to detail any alternative arrangements they can provide, and lets workers dispute whether their ...employer has followed the process correctly. 08.01.2022 If you're an employer, large or small, you'll likely have Superannuation obligations for your staff. If you make a mistake in calculating or paying that superannuation, the consequences can be pretty harsh, including any late payments being made non-deductible expenses! The superannuation clearing house, combined with single touch payroll, will start alerting the Tax Office if you haven't done it right.... Hopefully the Parliament passes the proposed amnesty, and you can correct past mistakes without penalty. For a review of your superannuation records, and advice about how to proceed, give us a call.

01.01.2022 31 March is the end of the Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year. If you've been providing non-cash benefits to your employees, you may need to prepare an FBT return. One of the most common Fringe Benefits in small businesses are cars with private use. Even if you don't prepare an FBT return, you need to record the odometer of your company owned car as at 31 March every year.
