22.01.2022 It is with great sadness we inform you that Dan Murphy passed away at Townsville Hospital on the 4th January 2020. Dan has been a part of the we2care family for the last 16 months and in that time taught us all so much! Especially the will to live each day to your fullest regardless of your situation! Dan was a well known member of the community and was always happy to have a yarn to anyone. As many of you know, Dan and myself have been writing his life biography but were... unable to finish in time, I am yet to think of a way to finish and will share once completed :)) - Bec Wood (Dan's support coordinator)-

Our participant is an easy going person who requires support with daily activities and community access. Passion of supporting those vulnerable and in needs. 2. Can you play a musical instrument? No, but I can sing, I guess? 3. Do you have any strange phobias? Nope 4. What do you love about your current job? Seeing a smile from my client/participants and their family makes me feel that I fulfilled something that changes their lives and knowing that they are safe and live the life they want. 5. What is still left to check off your bucket list? Still lots to tick off as I have been busy helping the community. Maybe one day I will start ticking off my bucket list. I would love to find the missing piece of my heart, but this might take time. 6. Do you have any pets? Not a present but I do have a dog previously. 7. What do you feel most grateful for? When people appreciated of what I have done for them and just being happy all the time. 8. What was your first ever job? Computer consultant at University. 9. What is your best childhood memory? Growing up with my grandma is the best memory I have and always in with me whether or wherever I go as I know she is with me all the time to guide me and protect me when I am not taking the right pathways of life. 10. Assist in development of weekly program of skills enhancement and activities designed to meet goals identified in Participant support plans. 3. Schedule and assist Participants to attend medical and allied health appointments and oversee practices which uphold the health and well-being of the client(s). 4. Identify and assist in locating resources, services, and supports that facilitate community integration including social, educational, vocational and leisure activities. 5. Manage and maintain accurate client information and file notes and complete administrative and documentation tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Requirements - 1. Formal Qualifications (at Certificate 3 level or higher) in Mental Health, Disability, Community Services are highly desirable. 2. Current Blue and Yellow Card 3. Current Police Check 4. Current First Aid and CPR 5. Current driver’s licence. 6. Operational and applied experience supporting people with a mental disability living in a residential setting. 7. 05.01.2022 Support coordination Working in a role doing support coordination, We navigate the NDIS across the whole nation. Some days are harder than others, ... But we all look out for our Aunts, Uncles, sisters and brothers. Our participants welcome us into their lives, we meet their families, pets and what car they drive. Funding allocation is always so fun, Therapy, support and Assistive technology can assist people run. Reporting on progress and how far they've come, and all of the obstacles our participants have overcome. We have shared many moments of laughter and tears, helped people get past their most intense fears. All in all, I am grateful to be a support coordinator, although I think they should change the title to NDIS crusader!! Bec (NDIS Crusader)

Sort of fell into it, have always been interested in assisting people navigate their world. 2. Can you play a musical instrument? I used to play flute at school (not band camp ) Can play twinkle twinkle little star on guitar haha 3. Do you have any strange phobias? Cotton wool ...... worst thing ever invented! 4. What do you love about your current job? I love when I meet people in Dire Straits and assisting them reach their goals no matter how big or small.. and being a part of people's lives. 5. What is still left to check off your bucket list? Definitely visiting Sicily (Mum is Sicilian) 6. Do you have any pets? I have a 2 Dogs (Link and Tilly), a horse (Poppy), 2 catfish, a tropical shark (can't remember their names haha ) and now a hermit crab (Diesel). 7. What do you feel most grateful for? I am grateful for my ability to persevere through anything life has thrown my way and making the most out of my life. Obviously also grateful for my family. 8. What was your first ever job? Worked at a little italian Deli in Ingham ( I was 12yrs old). Mum at 17 yrs old (that has been by far the hardest role). My first job in the community services industry was as a Project Officer, running programs for people with Mental Illness. 9. What is your best childhood memory? Definitely competing at state level in Equestrian and placing top 3 in the state for 3 day eventing (Dressage, cross country, showjumping). And of course all the rodeo's I completed in! 10. What is the best piece of advice you ever received? Just because someone has had more education than you, does not mean that they know better than you!
