08.01.2022 Built and opened 1956, Lennon’s hotel, Broadbeach may have been just ahead of its time. The 100 room - 2 public bar accomodation would only be around a short while before changing hands a number of times as different folk tried to re-imagine its potential. It would eventually be knocked down for what is now the Oasis shopping centre and fated monorail to the casino project. Some of Lennon’s Hotel does remain however! The seal fountain from its entry now rests in front of the Gold Coast convention centre just across the road from its original position. #goldcoasthistory #wearegoldcoast @cityofgoldcoast @goldcoastlibrary @destinationgoldcoast
