25.01.2022 How to create high performing teams... using (biodegradable) cups! We had the pleasure of running a session for the 'designing designers' stream at SDNOW last Friday. Following Melis Senova's talk on 'Ecstasis, flow, and design character: how to apply the neuroscience of peak performance in design', we decided to see if we could create the parameters conducive for flow in a room full of 70 people using the cup songa task that requires enough of a challenge to keep people fro...m boredom, however staying within their realm of ability to steer clear of anxiety. The task was a vehicle to uncover personal experiences, interactions and behaviours that we observe whenever people approach a new complex task. We had so much fun delivering this program! A big thank you to everyone who came along and dived straight in. We hear Melis' talk on ecstasis and flow will be made available online shortly. Stay tuned! #flow #highperformingteams #hcd #designingdesigners

05.01.2022 "I'm sold, but how do I convince others?" In our latest article, Steph writes about the approaches you can take to introduce and champion design thinking in your organisation, and how to tell the story of design to those who are unfamiliar with its opportunities. You can read it here https://www.wearehuddle.com/blog/Tellingthestoryofdesign

03.01.2022 The HMW tool is helpful in our process of narrowing our focus to the really important opportunities and problems we are there to solve. To come up with relevant, impactful ideas we need to understand the real problem we're solving first. It often requires more digging than the solution your customer originally articulates to you, because tangible solution statements are often informed by intangible needs. ... Understanding motives, context, the outcome they're trying to achieve and why this is important to them are vital to arrive at a solution that meets someones needs. To ideate from here, we can reframe the question into, "How might we...(outcome) - so that... (underlying need is addressed)?" Dig into this on our resources page of our website. We run you through this activity + more at our final introductory session of the year, involving a design challenge to practice your skills. HCD101, 4th December 2-5pm. https://www.wearehuddle.com/HCD-101
