19.01.2022 If you need some viewing recommendations to ward off the boredom this weekend then look no further! Weve teamed up with some local experts to pull together our top picks for the weekend which we have dubbed - Stay At Home Cinema. From free-to-air TV offerings to streaming delights, weve got you covered!... -------------- Carey The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) - Saturday 3.15pm on Gem "The quintessential Sherlock Holmes production in my eyes and it has one of the best film posters to boot. Cumberbatch plays a great modern version of the character but Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes is *Chefs kiss*" -------------- Chloe ET (1982) Saturday 7pm on Gem "I cant go past this Spielberg classic as my pick this week. Just dont forget to have the tissues handy!" -------------- Kevin from Cinematic Randomness Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure (1989) - Streaming on Stan. "If you didnt grow up watching these two dudes, then you might find this time capsule of the late 80s to be an acquired taste. However, much like the titles suggest, its a fun ride that doesnt worry about the mechanics of time travel." -------------- What are you watching this weekend? Latrobe Health Assembly

16.01.2022 It looks like we might be settling for a little bit longer but if you need some viewing recommendations to ward off the boredom then look no further! Weve teamed up with some local experts to pull together our top picks for the weekend which we have dubbed - Stay At Home Cinema. From free-to-air TV offerings to streaming delights, weve got you covered!... -------------- Chloe Matilda (1996) Friday 7:30 pm on Go! "Matilda is a family film jam-packed with heart, hilarity and chocolate cake. It captures both the magic and dark comic tone of the Roald Dahl novel its based on, and Mara Wilson shines in the titular role as a beacon for bookish misfits everywhere." -------------- Carey The Iron Giant (1999) - Saturday 5.15pm on 7Flix "Im a sucker for traditional animation and The Iron Giant is as lush and full of life as any of Disneys richest films. An incredible example of what is possible when you draw some lines on a piece of paper and get Vin Diesel to talk over it." -------------- Kevin from Cinematic Randomness The Italian Job (1969) - Streaming via SBS On Demand "Were living in a self-preservation society, so why not enjoy the Michael Caine classic with the literal cliff-hanger ending. Its without a doubt one of the most fun and arguably the greatest heist film of all time." -------------- Megan from Latrobe Youth Space Fantastic Beasts and where to find them (2016) on Netflix If you like the Harry Potter series you are probably going to like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It is set in 1926, 65 years before the Harry Potter series and follows Newt Scamander an English wizard and his encounters with magical creatures in New York. -------------- What are you watching this weekend? 07.01.2022 If you need some viewing recommendations to ward off the boredom this weekend, then look no further! Weve teamed up with some local experts to pull together our top picks for the weekend which we have dubbed - Stay At Home Cinema. From free-to-air TV offerings to streaming delights, weve got you covered!... -------------- Carey Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) - Friday 7.30pm on GO! "Based off the equally fantastic novel by Roald Dahl, Fantastic Mr. Fox delivers a visual feast that is full of charm and wonderfully memorable characters. Be warned, your heart will be warmed!" -------------- Damen Interstellar (2014) - Saturday 7.30pm on 7Mate "Christopher Nolans most ambitious project certainly divided opinion, but it still delivers plenty as a nuanced and emotive blockbuster. With stunning visual effects and thought-provoking concepts in equal measure, theres plenty to enjoy. -------------- Kevin from Cinematic Randomness The Last Emperor (1987) - Streaming on SBS On Demand "At almost 3-hours-long this historical epic tells the bittersweet story of Chinas last emperor Pu Yi; a child born into unimaginable privilege to a man used as a political puppet in a rapidly changing world. Perfect viewing for a lazy Sunday." -------------- Megan from Latrobe Youth Space Nancy Drew (2007) - Streaming on Netflix "I picked Nancy Drew as I enjoy comedy films and enjoyed Scooby Doo growing up and Nancy Drew is similar being a teenage detective, solving mysteries in a unique way." -------------- What are you watching this weekend?
