16.01.2022 Merry Christmas! Speech and Drama Teachers Association of W.A. Celebrated the end of another busy year in the inviting garden of VICE PRESIDENT, Karen Goddard. It was a relaxed gathering on a balmy Summer evening. Members were seated at small tables festively decorated under the canopy of a jacaranda tree in full bloom. Certificate students, Alexandria Boehm and Kieran Marley, performed drama monologues from their examination programs. A delightful evening and fitting way to end the year. Thanks, Karen and Dr Dave, we all had a fine time!

11.01.2022 Perth Speech & Drama teachers were treated to a spectacular performance by WAAPA 3rd Year Acting students. The cast presented Brecht's famous "Threepenny Opera" under the magnificent 'The Edith' Spiegeltent, housed within the grounds of the ECU, Mt Lawley Campus. The singing, dancing and acting were professionally delivered and highly entertaining. It was great to see SDTAWA Council members Karen Goddard, Andie Holborn, Maureena Lockyer-Benzie and a group of young members enjoying the show. SDTAWA President, Deb Mitchell, caught up with Natasha Vickery (pictured) who gave a consummate performance as 'Polly Peachum'. Natasha was the recipient of the SDTAWA POETRY prize awarded to her in 2016. Congratulations to the cast and crew on an outstanding show!

05.01.2022 Congratulations, James Thomasson, on winning the Speech & Drama Teachers' Association of Western Australia (SDTAWA) Poetry Speaking Award!
