Coolangatta 5.6C,... A complex system of 3 lows develops near Tasman causing a COLD OUTBREAK driving Antarctic winds with snow and 100kph winds into South Eastern Australia. One of the lows got below 980Hpa and was instramental in causing deep snow complelely cover cars at Fall's Creek for all the ALPS which reached Black heath iwest of Sydney. Not only for Australia but Europe ( Paris... 42.3C an all time record) and many other region. The Fire season this year could be a bad one heralded by the the poor rainfall and very dry cure state of grasslands. Authorities in Northern Australia warn people to be FIRE READY. The Top End is expecting an average fire season after experiencing its driest Wet Season since 1992. Plus the hottest wet season with only 34% of normal rainfall. A number of fires are active across the Top End with smoke reaching Darwin. Queenslanders are expecting above average fire potencial south of Rockhampton to the NSW border. Plus a small area west of Mackay and the south west of Cape York,. There are isolated fires from Townsville south to the border and around Dubbo and Cobar. Northern WA - an normal fire season. Currently a large Bushfire north of Paraburdoo. WEATHER FOR THE LAST 7 DAYS --- WA - A trough Mon and another Thr caused showers with cold southerlies. Some 8 day totals(mm) - Margaret River 49, Walpole 39, Collie 30, Midland 27, Perth 23, Albany 18, Darkan 12, Goomalling 9 and Meredin 4. SA - Squally showers Mon/Tue and early Fri ( possible storm??) affect most coastal areas mainly the south east. Some 7 day totals(mm) - Mt. Gambier 28. Heathfield 35, Victor Harbour 31, Hahndorf 26, Robe 21, Cape Jaffa 20, Pt. Lincoln 11, North Adelaide 9 VIC - Cold and overcast for most of the week with early fog in the north east and hjigh country. . Lighjt falls affected most of the state with moderate to heavy falls in the south west , Then steady falls with isolated moderate falls in the north east with snow on the peaks. Some 7 days falls(mm) - Rocky Valley 50, Merino 40, Cape Nelson 38, Casterton 37, Portland 36, Trentham 33, Cavendish 26, Scoresby 25, Coleraine 24 Kinglake 21, Aspley 18, Melbourne 16, Jindivick 14, Orbost 12, Woomelang 5. TAS - Strong Winds with squally showers with snow on the peaks Mon with more showers Fri drenched the western half of Tasmania. The east central coast only got light falls. Bingil Bay 20mm, Innisfail 17mm, Babinda 16mm, Daintree 5mm A few early morning fogs continued over the weekend along the Burnett/WideBay to Rockhampton. FORECAST A trough over the SW of WA is causing isolated showers with a very isolated thundery showerson the Goldfields south to the coast early Sun . This reaches SA late Sun into Mon with thundery showers ( 3-11mm) for the southern half of the state. On Sun light Showers for the TAS west coast could become heavy for the far south west Mon. As a high over eastern Australia causes early morning mist/fog for east coast south of Mackay clearing to mostly sunny days. The trough over SA should reach western NSW Mon and the central and Northern Rivers by Tue. Hope of a shower here???? An encouraging upper trough develops Wed causing isolated storms ( 5-15mm) along the eastern QLD/NSW border - Could start Hebel/Diranbandi to Goondiwindi and possibly reaching Sunshine Coast, WideBay/Burnett and maybe Gold Coast Thr. Cross fingers!!?? If Upper trough develops over Queensland expect very isolated thundery showers from Mackay West/Collinsville/Emerald// Mitchell/Roma/St.George sweeping to the coast Sat/Sun.
