21.01.2022 Like many people, I love community sport. I know how important it is for building safer, stronger and healthier communities. Local clubs, leagues and associatio...ns have been hit hard by the coronavirus restrictions and that is why the Andrews Labor Government have established the Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package. The $1000 grants will make it that little bit easier for clubs to start to train again and head back to courts, ovals, pitches, greens, tracks and fields across Victora. I wish to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers who donate their time and energy to supporting our local clubs. Thank you to the Coaches, Umpires, Scorers, Runners, Fundraisers, Sponsors, First Aiders, Canteen Crew, Team Managers, Club Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Committee Members. 19.01.2022 It was great to visit Webbcona Bowling Club during their Monday Pennant to celebrate their $106,000 grant to upgrade their artificial green! Well done to all who were involved in the application, and I look forwarding to testing it out once it is installed!

04.01.2022 Great news for grassroots sporting clubs! The Andrews Labor Government is ramping up support for sporting clubs (including Scouts) and leagues doing it tough du...ring the COVID pandemic. Applications are now open for a second round of grants through the Community Sport Sector COVID-19 Survival Package. Clubs that received a $1,000 boost in the first round of the package will automatically receive an additional $500 while leagues and associations funded in the first round will receive a further $1,000. No additional application is required and payment will be made over the next two weeks. Sporting bodies can apply for a second round of support to shore up their operational viability, with applications considered on a case by case basis. This round is taking the support to another level so clubs and associations that are doing it tough not only survive but are ready to return to play when the time is right. If your club missed out last time, please get in touch with my office on 5331 1003.
