24.01.2022 Hi all, We have had a busy few months. Seems Christmas was a long time back . One of the projects we have been working on. Customer returned this 2400 Caribbean for major service and repairs. We installed and set this vessel up approx 12 years ago. The engine is a Yanmar 6BY-260Z with a Bravo 3 drive. ... Engine was lacking power and over heating. The engine was removed and all coolers cleaned of weed and growth. Starter motor replaced and general clean up decrease and paint. Engine bay had the pumps replaced, harness serviced and cleaned. The exhaust riser had a cracked flange and filled the engine bay with soot. The riser was sent to Rick Corbetts to repair the flange (great job) . The stern drive was dismantled , clutches service and oil seals replaced. Uni joints serviced and new bellows, gimble bearing installed. Engine back in and onto its beds. Lined up and bolted down. All electrics connected and tested.Engine run up and operational check completed. Boat electrics serviced and repaired. New wipers, nav lights, cockpit lights and switches as needed. She has come back like new after a full cut and polish (thanks Paul) In the end she will go for another 10 years. Thanks for the great work lads. Good luck John. See more

24.01.2022 Fugro Australia have a new vessel for hydro graphic survey. Operations to start son in our gulf. Vessel is powered by a Yanmar 4JH75 with Sd60 sail drive. This will be at sea for approx 10 day lots mapping all features of the sea bed and cost line. Eventually the Fugro group will map the whole continent.

23.01.2022 Hi all A couple of weeks back we had the opportunity to complete sea Torque stern tube repairs on a 70' riv. Twin Disc are the service agents and parts suppliers for these units. These stern tube allow full thrust to be taken by the vessels hull. The load bearings are similar to an automotive wheel bearing assy. ... The tube is filled with 16 lt of synthetic oil with a header tank. In this case the lower outer seal had failed. This was caused due to a blocked cooling water passage in the seal and bearing carrier. The seal failed and was noticed by the header tank slowly over filling and venting into engine room bilge. Vessel was lifted onto the blocks. Stern tube oil drained and seal carrier removed. Shaft linished up ok. New seals installed and the seal / bearing carrier reassembled. Refilled with fresh oil to level and bled of any air. Clean up and back into the water. Good job in the end. See more

19.01.2022 First start up new diesel in front of good Meccalte alternator 25Kva

17.01.2022 Hi, We have had a busy week, lads been flat out with a couple of break downs, along with some service work. We had this new Yanmar 4TNV88-GYM to replace the old Kubota. The old diesel was drowned with exhaust / cooling water and then left for a couple of weeks. We sourced the new Yanmar from Tasmania and then she was shipped to Melbourne then to us. We had stripped down the old engine from the near new alternator and then cleaned up the base frame. ... New front mounts made to suit the genset and all bolted together. We supplied and installed a new Deep Sea control panel. A new harness was manufactured and an 18m umbilical to get the dash into the wheel house. We completed wiring and repairs, connected all up and tested on work bench. All fluids topped up and then down to run up in work shop. Diesel runs nice and all functions on the controller work well. Should be a good unit for many hours to come. See more

14.01.2022 Running to warm up at rated 1500 rpm Runs clean and smooth

08.01.2022 Hi all, hope you are all going OK. Survived the virus. We have been busy with some small commercial works recently... . One of these little projects we have done recently, is a Yanmar 6LPA-STZP This engine has 4,700 hrs on the hour meter. It has had a hard life in a long line vessel. Its brother had a failed turbo and some piston damage. Valves were sunk into the head. We can only hope this one will go for a while. We have turned this engine from a stern drive configuration into an inboard set up, for a net boat out of Port Broughton. The engine has had timing belt and adjuster replaced, full service, front ballancer and all seals etc. When we first run her up she had a slight miss fire on No 2 cylinder. we went through and completed a valve adjustment and changed the fuel pump timing back to spec. Runs sweet as now. Full dergease and detail, paint and completion of all fittings and harness onto engine. Ready to be picked up by customer, to replace a tired 4LHA-STE that has over 13,000 hrs and still performs well and still reliable. Thanks and stay safe.

07.01.2022 Good morning all, Hope you are all well. We have been fairly busy over the last months. One of our recent tasks was to complete a fuel system repair in a 37' Riv. others had been attempting to rectify an issue with the genset not running with vessel under way for three years at great expense. In the end we dismantled the fuel system and had the fuel tank cleaned. The fuel pick was modified for a separate supply for the genset. To give the main engines their own supply.... New plumbing and valves for supply to the mains and the genset. The fuel tank was extremely dirty with sediment and microbiological growth. The primary fuel filters were almost packed and blocked. The original pick up was a single pipe through the tank with a stainless sock on the end. The sock was blocked and had fallen off, which then was sucked back onto the pipe and causing a restriction. A hatch was cut into the top of the tank for access (thanks Steve). Once open the amount of sludge was incredible. With new pick up installed and a clean fuel tank, new plumbing and valves all systems tested to be good. Vessel performance has improved and the genset even runs while under way. Thanks to all and stay safe. Well done lads. See more

04.01.2022 Steber 38 at full noise 3280 rpm at 32 knts full fuel and full water. Great performance.

02.01.2022 Hi all, we have had a busy couple of months. Had sea rescue vessel from Cowell in the work shop last week. Shift cable bellows had failed while she was on the wharf. The bilge pump then failed. We removed the stern drive and diesel. Removed all electricals and pumps. Replaced the starter and alternator. Repaired the harness and all connectors. Installed new bilge pump and float switches. Harness repair to remove some temporary stop solenoid wiring. Cleaned out the bilge an...d clipped up all plumbing. engine was descaled to remove some corrosion and repainted as needed. Transom service with new gimble bearing, bellows, shift cable kit and hose clamps. Stern drive had oil change and filter cleaned. Engine back in after full service bolted down, line up checked and adjusted. Reconnect all plumbing and electrics. Install stern drive and top up all fluids. Run up and all systems checked. Vessel back at work now. Well done lads.. See more
