13.01.2022 After SiteGround's massive price hike in 2018, I decided I'd move my web hosting plan elsewhere when it expired. I just moved to VentraIP and am happy to discover that all my websites are loading slightly faster for website visitors in Australia and in Asia even before enabling LiteSpeed Cache. This is great news for me and any other website owners considering renewing their SiteGround web hosting plans.... The 12 month renewal cost with SiteGround for my "GrowBig" plan would have been AU$329.34 but I moved to the VentraIP "Starter" plan" @ AU$107.40 instead. I now have a faster plan for less than one third of the cost. VentraIP also have a current 40% off shared web hosting promotion so I only ended up paying AU$64.44 for one year's hosting and am very happy with the move so far. 11.01.2022 Am feeling incredibly let down by SiteGround who have increased hosting renewal cost by 68% for one of my clients with no advance warning or explanation. Yes, the service is good and the features have been improved but I only use one or two of these new features, I didn't ask for them and many other hosts have added free SSL certificates without hiking up their prices. This particular website can be hosted locally in Australia for one eighth the cost of the new SiteGround price so I am no longer recommending SiteGround as a trustworthy web hosting company.

09.01.2022 Thanks Google for providing Google Maps for free until now! From June 11th, Google requires that website owners with Google Maps will need to set up an account using a credit card and pay for any usage over $200 per month. If you do nothing, it appears that the API will return low-resolution maps watermarked with for development purposes only.... I'm not sure what Incorporated Associations etc are supposed to do if they have no easy access to a credit card.
