24.01.2022 A friend of mine told me last week that she loves my hair up and doesn't see it enough. I realised that many people probably never see what is hiding under that cute blonde bob. Yup, in order to keep that bob sleek and sitting nicely, my hairdresser literally shaves half my head which means that when I pull it up, I get this very cool, rocker look. My husband calls it my tough girl look. I could totally picture me putting it up for a fun Rockabilly wedding or a couple who likes a bit of an alternative look? 18.01.2022 Two weeks ago, I was lying on an operating table, waiting to meet my son. As always, my husband Wal was by my side and holding my hand, as he has been for nearly 25 years. Now the two of us has become three and we continue to share the load, each having 1:1 bonding time with the baby. We are well and home and I'm making the most of this quiet time with my boys. Thank you to my past and current couples who have sent me much love. To my future couples, I'm on mat leave at the moment but am still monitoring my emails and plan to be back in a few months which will hopefully coincide with when weddings can go back to normal anyway. 16.01.2022 It is often assumed that a celebrant will stand between the couple. Before I became a celebrant, that's what I assumed too because I'd never seen it done any other way! But I actually prefer to stand off to the side for the majority of the ceremony, only coming in between to hold a microphone during vows. Why? So that you get great photos like this, without me in ALL of them and without your back to the crowd. This way, you can look at each other, see the faces of your sup...porters, hold hands, whatever feels right to you. And I'll still be there, right next to you but not between you. As it should be. . 15.01.2022 Let me introduce you to the gorgeous Debbie from @daybydebbie. Deb is important to my couples because she the reason that I am a celebrant. I had never considered it before she convinced me to do the training with her as a fun, friend thing to do. Immediately, I was hooked and it became my passion. 50 weddings in and I am so grateful to have her as one of my closest friends but also as the one who opened this part of my life to me. 03.01.2022 Last night I married these two awesome humans in a simple ceremony in front of a vocal and fun crowd of doctors and nurses from the Children's hospital, where KL works. They were certainly showered with love.
