24.01.2022 Next Saturday’s event.
24.01.2022 Whilst we are still able to play golf under these present stage three rules it is worth reminding all golfers to adhere to the rules of only playing in pairs, also 1.5 mtrs apart and wear a mask at all times. These rules are there for a reason and must be adhered to as big fines could be issued to players and clubs..Regards Keith Lewis

Tim played Owen a few weeks back and won 1up, Tim is the men’s knockout champ for 2020. Maybe Tim should play Jill next week for overall Champ. Congratulations to b...oth Jill and Tim. 14.01.2022 Legend of the week goes to Jon Chandler Last Saturday Jon had an eagle on the 3rd and rumour has it that he had 22 strokes for 6 holes That would be burning it up. Well done Jon, I nice little collect from the eagle’s nest.
14.01.2022 Well the course looks great at the moment with mowing of the fairways being done this week and hopefully some rough. A few scrapes were improved on Sunday and a special mention to the two members who are cleaning up the gardens around the club house, 1st tee and the 7th tee and also around the Lockhart rock. Regards Keith Lewis

11.01.2022 The course has been mown today in preparation for AFL Grand Final golf day. Golf will be at our 12.30pm usual time. We will be finished in readiness for the first bounce and the much anticipated Grand Final entertainment I’m surprised that they didn’t ask for some of the golf turf to be moved to the Gabba for the big day.
11.01.2022 Twenty-four golfers were out today enjoying the beautiful weather and course conditions. Social distancing and face masks are now the norm. The only competition being played is ‘Who wears it best’ Not so many photos today, no scores to report either. In four weeks time we can resume comp days with some good results hopefully. Cards can still be handed in to the handicapper for handicapping, this keeps the interest strong for the keen golfers. Wednesday golf 10.15am

09.01.2022 Yes golf is still going, all be it with restrictions that we’re more than happy to abide by to get a game of golf in. Twelve played Saturday while some have... chosen wisely and preferred a game today, Sunday We had a beautiful and much needed rain on Friday/Saturday. The course was showing signs of stress from numerous frosts over the past month along with a dry July. Chris Hargreaves had an outstanding 78, the only score that was worth raving about. Midweek golf will still be on this Wednesday 10.15am, weather permitting as more rain is forecast. Next Saturday 12.15. Don’t forget your masks See more
08.01.2022 Sunday arvo golf was 3 seasons in one day, we skipped Summer.
06.01.2022 The end of the golf season is fast approaching and without rain it will come earlier than we were hoping. The house paddock in comparison to the racecourse paddock is quite extreme. The racecourse paddock is still well covered with lush green grass while the house paddock has large patches of dry and a lot of run causing many wayward golfers grief. Last weeks good scores: John Donaldson & Ed Rickard 43 stableford points. Graeme Smith, Jill Millie and Susie Lockhart 42 s...tableford points. This years winner of the John Somerville event is Graeme Smith and Jake Hayes. Wednesday’s best results in the game of Par were: Sandra Steel and Sandra Standfield who were both 5 Up. Sandra Steel was the overall winner of the Silver Spoon. TODAY WE WERE BACK PLAYING COMPETITION and no longer have to play in pairs Today’s winner: Sam Lockhart 89-31-58 Ball winners: Joe Lockhart 80-12-68, Dave Fry 91-23-68, Geoff Weston 95-27-68. NTP 13th: Geoff Weston Best 2nd shot on the 2nd: Jim Tonkin. Next Week: Owen is on scrapes and Dave is in the office. Saturday’s event: Social Club 4 BBBB aggregate. You need to organise yourself a partner where possible. Sunday: The Redbacks are hosting a golf day, flyer is below. All golfers and non golfers are welcome. See more

04.01.2022 Perfect conditions for good scores We didn’t all get the memo and unfortunately left our best game for another week, while others thrived on the chance to be out on the course. Today’s winner with his personal best score: Joe Lockhart 74 off the stick, 47 stableford pts. His old man Tim was runner up with 76 off the stick, 42 stableford pts and probably thought that he had today’s win wrapped up . Ball winners with good scores ... 03.01.2022 For a Winter sport in our part of the world this week has not seen the most inviting conditions Without an official competition we have only the best two score for the day. MacKenzie Smith 36 Stableford points Chris Hargreaves 35 stableford points Wednesday ladies only played 9 holes with rain stopping play, they were enjoying a novelty game with their partner, Bingo, Bango, Bongo.
03.01.2022 Wedderburn golf club would like someone to step into the Secretary role as the current secretary has expressed a desire to relinquish this role, please get involved in running the club as it only takes a small amount of time Regards Keith lewis
01.01.2022 What’s been going on at golf this week? Have you heard an aeroplane flying low around Wedderburn lately? Pilot/Photographer Ian Oswald Jacobs has been scooting above taking scenic shots of the district. This photo was taken on Tuesday September 1st 2020 of the golf course and has been framed and donated to the club in memory and a tribute to Ian’s past employee and Wedderburn Golf past member Alan Thiele. Alan spent many years on the road travelling with wife Val Thiele del...ivering Ian’s photos to rural property owners and playing a lot of golf throughout Australia . Thank you This photo will hang proudly in the Wedderburn Golf Clubhouse. Captain Owen Bailey had a birthday last Saturday, happy birthday Owie. Best scores were Keith Lewis 40 stableford points. Cam Taylor 40 (74 off the stick) John Chandler 40, Corey Lowry 38 points. Wednesday Ladies best scores were Jill Millie 42 and Sandra Steel 40 points. Tomorrow Wednesday names in by 10.15am. Saturday 12 midday. Thank to all who did some work on the sands last Sunday, along with the gardeners who weeded and replanted the beds. Martin on the mower is doing a brilliant job and big thank you those who constantly spend hours at the course cleaning ups, doing the scrapes and mowing to keep the season going for as long as we possibly can. Much appreciated. Please note that some of these photos were taken pre mask days. See more
