25.01.2022 Matthew & Chemere Yesterday, we were lucky enough to be apart of this incredible couple’s wedding at this stunning venue, Pethers Rainforest Retreat - Tamborine Accommodation. ... The rain held off, and they were wed in an intimate garden wedding with their closest friends and family, and their fur baby Basil It was only after they said I do that the heavens opened & it began to pour. For a lot of photographers, this would mean limited photos & put a dampener on the day (literally). But for us, it meant an opportunity to use the rain to our advantage for some romantic & dramatic scenes. A huge thank you to Chem & Matthew Russo for allowing us to capture your big day, & to the bridal party for their help in the rain, and to the rest of their friends and family for helping them make it a day to remember. 24.01.2022 Adam & Paloma On Saturday we headed down to Elements of Byron Resort & Spa for what could only be described as the perfect day for the perfect couple. Surrounded by their ("community") family & closest friends they were married overlooking Byron Bay beach. 24.01.2022 On the weekend we had the pleasure of capturing this red hot couple's engagement shoot & had the burning need to share all of these teasers with you all... Okay, so we may have got a little carried away with the Fireman puns, but Adam & Teagans shoot was so much fun & combined with capturing all these intimate moments, it was a true reflection of the amazing bond they share. 23.01.2022 Kristian & Kiara's Wedding When it comes to your big day, we all dream of blue skies & perfect weather. Last month the entire eastern side of Australia was hit by a massive east coast low. It brought with it gail force winds & flooding. And the worst place hit was Coffs Harbour right where this wedding was set. But if it was raining outside to that of a cyclone, you’d have never even realised it with Kristian & Kiara... ... This amazing couple were not fazed in the slightest. Their wedding day was a celebration of their love for each other & sharing that moment with their close family & friends was their only priority, regardless of the weather. 23.01.2022 Ash & Tanya Over the weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of heading out to Dalby to the most amazing venue - Jimbour Homestead. We don't get to photograph country weddings as much as we'd like to & this was so much fun to shoot! After a beautiful ceremony in the gardens in front of the manor, mother nature decided to treat us with four seasons in one day. From sunny fields to a rainy evening, to a pastel sky at sunset with rainbows & a vibrant sunset to boot...this day ...had everything! 21.01.2022 Allan & Kate A few days ago, I had the pleasure of capturing Allan & Kate's wedding at Albert River Wines. Choosing to see each other before the ceremony, the bride wowed her groom in a "first look". We managed to squeeze in some photos around the grounds, before the heavens above opened up and drenched the grounds with some much needed rain! ... After a last minute change to the chapel, nothing could stop this pair getting married. Their ceremony was an intimate one surrounded by their closest friends. Surrounded by family & friends, the couple decided to tie the knot on Burleigh Beach in what can only be described as a picture perfect day! The sun was shining & the sky was as blue & calm as the ocean. 19.01.2022 Daniel & Renee On Saturday, we had an absolute blast shooting Daniel Middler & Renee Middler's special day. Held at the always stunning Braeside Events Gold Coast Events Gold Coast they were surrounded by their closest family & friends. The weather was perfect for most of the day & not a minute after we finished shooting the bridal photos, the heavens opened up.... Together, with the help of Dan, we previously arranged a surprise for Renee by earlier in the day installing fairy lights in this beautiful tree. While rain still gently fell we captured this intimate image of them together when we snuck out from reception. 17.01.2022 Ryan & Naomi As far as weddings go, this was such a unique, fun & quirky wedding that we will never forget. When thinking outside the box for a different location to share their vows, Ryan & Naomi Melrose looked to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where they could share their love for animals & each other in a special place that their guests will never forget.... The first to ever have their wedding in there, their ceremony was set in the Lost Valley in the largest Avery in the Southern Hemisphere. We later took them around the park where we captured some incredible photos amongst the local wildlife with emus, kangaroos & birdlife. 14.01.2022 ENGAGEMENT - Teagan & Ben SHE SAID YES!!! Yesterday, after many months of planning between Benny Cosson & ourselves, we hatched a plan for a surprise engagement shoot, or better known to Teagan Lee as a "Family Shoot". ;) Ben informed us early on that Teagan is not easily fooled. We decided to shoot at the beautiful Mount Tamborine Botanical Gardens as Teagan loves nature. 09.01.2022 TEASER - Aaron & Dinithi's Wedding Often it is almost impossible to choose one image as the teaser for an amazing wedding. On Saturday, we had 4 we just couldn’t split. After a private & intimate ceremony at their stunning home in Auchenflower in Brisbane, we headed down to South Bank for some bridal photos along the foreshore at sunset before their reception at Stokehouse Q. We were limited with light as it quickly approached dusk, but nothing could prepare us for the ...incredibly colourful & vibrant sky that we were going to lay witness to. The gorgeous sunset just worked so well against the lights of Brisbane City. 08.01.2022 Charlotte & James On Friday we flew over to Western Australia to photograph a very special wedding at Old Broadwater Farm Weddings. After a beautiful & touching ceremony, together with James & Charlotte, we decided to capture a very unique group image with our drone. For bridal photos we made our way around the grounds & captured some fun images with their bridal party to celebrate. Then we whisked our bride & groom away, but not before a stop at their favourite restauran...t, McDonalds, for some delicious burgers lol. We then made our way down to Canal Rocks, stopping at a vineyard on the way & the down to the foreshore to capture some light beams atop of the rocks in a very dramatic & windy scene before heading back to the venue for some sunset images & a stunning reception! 05.01.2022 Jen & Jez On Friday, we had the pleasure of shooting Jenny & Jeremy's special day, at the beautiful venue Ecostudio Fellini. The intimate garden ceremony surrounded by their closest family & friends was nothing short of perfect & it was clear that these guys have something special going on between them. ... 05.01.2022 Volande & Libby Many years ago when this adorable chapel opened in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland at The Chapel Montville, we were lucky enough to capture the Milky Way above the chapel for the owners. We said to ourselves "If we ever get the opportunity to shoot a wedding up here, we will attempt this shot with a Bride & Groom". On Saturday after celebrating an amazing wedding surrounded by their closest friends & family, Volande & Libby Hayes said "Let's do this!" and ...we attempted our most ambitious wedding image yet. With clear skies & the addition of a shooting star, we finally captured their dream image. After a fun afternoon up at One Tree Hill with their incredible bridal party it was a great way to end such a beautiful day. 04.01.2022 Jayson & Kellie They say rain on your wedding day is good luck - well, for Jayson & Kellie, they would be considered one of the luckiest couples on the Gold Coast this week! On Saturday, in front of friends and family who came from near & far, Jayson & Kellie were wed at the incredible Parkwood Village Weddings. Although the weather was torrential, they were able to celebrate their love for one another, taking the wind and rain (& a few other hiccups along the way) in th...eir stride. Their resilience showed us that a wedding is about more than just the weather & material things. 02.01.2022 TEASERS - Jazna & Ethan We are back from a few months abroad & what a wedding to kick start our year!... In true DK Wedding style, it was partly cloudy with showers forecast throughout the day. But, we believe some of the most stunning images are on those exact overcast & rainy days, just like this one. On Thursday we headed up to Maleny Manor on the Sunshine Coast. Now, we have a rule, we don’t photograph other photographers weddings, but, for this amazing (and persistent lol) couple, we made an exception. ;) At an intimate ceremony, surrounded by close friends & family, our dear friends finally tied the knot. After we had the pleasure of shooting around the grounds of the Manor, we then headed off to ‘One Tree Hill’which to usis undoubtedly one of the most beautiful locations to shoot. 02.01.2022 Igor & Stephanie We love shooting 'Destination Weddings', so when Stephanie & Igor Ruzic flew us to Bali to capture their big day at a private Villa overlooking Kuta, we knew this was going to be something very special. This unique wedding was filled with so much love and laughter. After a truly intimate & moving ceremony, we took the bridal party down to the beach for what was a gorgeous sunset. 02.01.2022 Bala & Onnie Yesterday I had some big shoes to fill... There was plenty of emotion with not having Dale there to lead the way, but I couldn't say no to Dale's good friend's Bala & Onnie on their wedding day. The bride and groom said 'I do' in an early afternoon wedding ceremony, with some of their closest family and friends present at the Mount Nimmel Hall. The surrounding hills were soaked in sunlight & there was so much love in the air. ... Outside of my comfort zone, we laughed, we cried, it was definitely a memorable day.
