24.01.2022 All to often I have couples tell me they've "heard" that only the bridal party can be involved in the wedding ceremony - to this I say bulldust! Want someone involved in your special day - let's do it! Take Mr & Mrs D's Ceremony a few Saturday's ago - they wanted their mate Johnny involved, and while becoming an Authorised Marriage Celebrant wasn't realistic, having this spirited chap deliver the ceremony was! (Obviously all the legalities were taken care of by yours truly)... Your day is about you and your person - don't let tradition scare you into a ceremony that doesn't reflect you both! Johnny did a brilliant job! The guests had a good chuckle and most importantly the new Mr & Mrs D were happy! Let's have a chat about your plans and ideas! If it's possible we will do it! 12.01.2022 After roadtripping a little over 340km, we arrived at the farm ready for today's ceremony! We headed through the paddock, a dust cloud following us to today's ceremony location. As we got closer we worried the heat must have had us imagining an oasis - as neither Mr Roadie or myself expected to find this spectacular setup! A fresh patch of grass in the middle of the dried paddock, with a jarrah deck and the arbour overlooking a babble of water and surrounding farm area! ... 06.01.2022 Today my focus was very much on Mr & Mrs B's impending nuptials that when Mr Roadie got out and put the gate chain down - I drove over it and continued to drive a good 20 metres or so before I realised I had driven off without him! Normally I approach a situation with a "there's no going back now" kind of attitude, but today there was every reason to go back! 05.01.2022 What a topsy turvy ride 2020 has been! While it might have been a year of unprecedented uncertainty and the unknown, a year of disarray with cancellations and quick plans to reorganize - it was also a year filled with beauty, excitement, change and most importantly love! In many ways 2020 has taught us what we hold most dear and what is important in life - each other (and a stockpile of hand sanitizer and loo paper!)... What we had pictured and planned for this year might not have been - but that doesnt mean it didnt hold beauty in its own way. 2020 was a big year for this lil Celebrant. I've had the privilege of celebrating the love of 20 couples - with very different locations and perfectly unique ceremonies! This is the first year in many, that I am not officiating a ceremony as we bring in the new year - which means its a good night to sit back and reflect, put the feet up and ring in the new year with Mr Roadie!
