21.01.2022 Could the rusty chook fly the coop? The famous steel eagle statue that stands a top Kirra Hill is in danger of being removed amid fears it has become a safety... hazard. The eagle, known as the rusty chook weighs 2.4-tonnes and was created by Coolangatta sculptor Craig Medson. Robbie Totten from Kirra Surfriders Club says council have advised the club as to why the Eagle needs to be removed and that they have spoken to Medson's family about the statues removal and replacement. The Eagle is the emblem of the Kirra Surf Riders and the club hopes that the rusty chook is replaced with a similar statue. Have you been concerned about the statue being a safety hazard?

We did a swap for white americana chairs and that was no problem or added cost. No wonder Heather was voted Top 10 celebrants from day one she was so obliging and helpful. We both felt totally at ease on the day and the wedding set up was really beautiful, better than what we anticipated. Our friend was the photographer so we kept costs down. She is a wealth of knowledge sending emails regularly with tips and hints and links to websites. 06.01.2022 "While packing up my grammy's house to move her into an assisted living facility next month, we found her wedding dress in her attic! 63 years later she tried i...t on and it still fits! This is a picture of her holding her original wedding photo from 1953. My mom (their daughter) is taking this picture and you can see her face reflecting off the glass. My grandma Ruth stayed married to my grandpa Jack his entire life until he died in 2000. She misses him every day. They had a love that spanned the ages. People should know this kind of love is real and is worth waiting for." See more
