18.01.2022 Hi lovely friends of Apollo My name is Lyndal Denny. Early 2016, 3 days into a 4000km road trip from Karratha to Adelaide, I watched in horror as a roadtrain ploughed into a young wedge-tail eagle who was dining alfresco on some fresh roadkill. That young eagle was Apollo and this page was set up as his legacy to remind us all to be mindful not only of other motorists - but our wildlife as well. I too am a roadtrain driver and my work focuses heavily on road safety. A...s a result Im delighted to have been named a finalist in the South Australian Community Achievement Awards. At midnight tonight, voting closes in the Community Choice section of the SA Community Achievement Awards making today the LAST day FB friends can vote. As a finalist in the Road Safety category, I’m hoping you might take 3o seconds to give me your precious vote which will help me continue my work to make our roads safer for all. Voting can be done by clicking on the banner below where you can see the word POLL. Once the page comes up, please scroll down to my photo and click on it (it will highlight with a yellow background) then scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the SUBMIT button https://poll.app.do/2018sacaapoll Thanks SO much and big hugs for you all See more

Key points: It's the first time in Victorian history a person has been jailed for wildlife destruction The farm worker said he poisoned the birds under the direction of his employer... A retired wildlife officer says such culling of eagles is common on farms. When I rescued Apollo from the side of the highway a couple of years ago, thousands of Australians and many from other countries followed his rehabilitation. Our court system has just punished this monster for killing 406 of these magnificent birds with less than an hours jail for each eagle and a $6 fine per bird!! How can this BE
