24.01.2022 And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were st...ill. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed." ~Kitty O'Meara'~

02.01.2022 Circles of Strength : Wednesday Group Theme 2020-2021 Over the years, in the Wednesday group, we have discovered the great strength we have individually and as a group, and how we can stitch together and support ourselves and others. This has become the essence of the Wednesday group. caring and supporting one another through creativity. While Circles of Strength began as recognising women affected by domestic violence, and especially with indigenous women in mind, recen...t world events have added to our perspective and thinking on this theme. Let us celebrate, acknowledge and honour what it means to be strengthened in our own circles; interpret the circle as a symbol of strength, togetherness and resilience and express the empowerment of being women in our times. A circle of strength could be created to honour a specific person, a group of people or even yourself. It could celebrate a colour which sings of hope and love, or use your favourite technique to signify strength and talent. It may be inspired by a poem, a song, a movie, a musical composition or an artwork. You may also like to make a political, social or environmental statement with your circle, or not create something you love making and looking at! Circles of Strength will not be a fundraiser, but the circles will be displayed publicly as an outdoor installation on International Women’s Day 2021. You are invited to begin creating your circle of strength, as a contribution to IWD the circles will be returned to you/collected from the gallery. Like most of the previous Wednesday projects, almost anything goes. We will welcome and appreciate your creation of one or many circles of strength - please remember in your planning that we will be hanging them from tree branches and they need to incorporate fibre or a fibre art technique of some sort. We are hoping that the Wednesday group will be meeting in person again at Timeless Textiles Gallery sometime in July. Until then, please visit our Facebook page - Wednesday Group at Timeless Textiles https://www.facebook.com/wedgroupTT/ the Together We Play Facebook page, and Wedensday Zoom meetings or contact me or Anne at any time. Take care. Wilma
