25.01.2022 My horse cantering on the left rein today

24.01.2022 Yay - Im bringing Dash home this afternoon, will watch her like a hawk for a few days and then if all good can go back with her buddies! Biscuit Im sure will love being back with her friends! To say Im relieved is an understatement! Update Dash has turned a corner for the better still not totally in the clear and will be monitored closely overnight but the vet is a lot happier with her this afternoon! Needless to say Biscuit is being a typical red girl I think she is mi...ssing her friends! Big thanks to Canberra Equine Hospital who have always been there for us! Update no real change Dash is still uncomfortable but has pooped a bit and been given a walk or two, continue with what they are doing and will give us an update this afternoon! I imagine that Biscuit will be giving them a hard time.... Late eventing trip to the vet! Dashie has coliced so her and Biscuit are staying in hospital for now! Fingers crossed she improves, poops and dislodges that blockage! It is something about Mondays lately! So glad Sandi saw Dash rolling in the paddock on her way home so we could get her to the vet as soon as we did. Biscuit was not impressed with her new friend in the stall next door

23.01.2022 Had a great ride over the river today even with the awful weather The circled rocky outcrop in the first pic was our goal and we made it

23.01.2022 Younger foals first time out into the big paddock which will be their winter paddock! The older ones will join them tomorrow

23.01.2022 Jackson is getting so big

22.01.2022 Isolation project We used to have an amazing veggie garden for our first few years at Weemala but our time and focus has moved to the horses and competing in the past few years. Knowing we wont be going away and competing for the next 3-6months we thought we would revive it

22.01.2022 ISO project update Weemala Ruby first ride out of the roundyard today Such a smart and level headed little mare

22.01.2022 Weemala Just Ruby learning to be a grown up pony! She is not little MoMo is just HUGE (a tad under 17hh)

22.01.2022 After a very chilly-5 degrees this morning - took the three girls for a lovely ride at the Canberra arboretum - we are so lucky to have the beautiful riding so close! Stopped for coffee and hot chips at the cafe and rode back through the tunnel under the highway and past the zoo! The ponies all getting an eye full of the massive rhino! Rubys second ride off the property what a legend

22.01.2022 Great weekend away - another tick for training with a child hood idol! This time it was Matt Ryan and I (Bel) took our home bred Weemala Cougar - she was still a little exuberant but had never done any of the technical stuff in the SJ on Saturday and took everything in her stride in the XC on Sunday! Like Cougs does she turned many an eye and did our stud/ breeding program and the Morgan proud

21.01.2022 Went for a ride along the Monaro highway today and saw this cross - on the back was Dalgetty 7a! Can any Michelago or anyone explain the story behind this road side memorial? It was located Monaro highway between Ryrie Road and The Quarry

20.01.2022 The way I started my day - somewhere down there in that blanket of fog is home!!!

19.01.2022 Needing a recharge day I took a personal day - had a lovely morning in the garden removing the tomatoes (the first frost has hit), planting some seedlings then taking a few horses into Canberra for a relaxing ride through the Arboretum! It was beautiful, love where we live back to work tomorrow.

19.01.2022 Easter Sunday shenanigans- after a great riding lesson (at home) with classical coach Michael Godding (mind you with plenty to work on) we did something we havent done for years and went down to the river for a fish! After 3 1/2 hours a number of ciders and some sunburn we achieved 1 (yes 1) stinky carp!!! Better than none I suppose!!!

18.01.2022 What a contrast - pretty much three months to the day these photos were taken the first from our neighbours 1 Feb 2020 when we were sure we had lost our home and the second this morning 2 May 2020 when the southerly chill came through!

18.01.2022 Straight from the garden - our first salad, and thanks to a friend I have been introduced to micro greens they are carrots seedlings on the far right! Hope they are as good as they look.

16.01.2022 The three yearlings - Biscuit, Harry and Candy

16.01.2022 All our kids are now weaned - it has been a big first 8 months for them with the drought, smoke, bushfires and two evacuations to another property! They are well travelled, looking forward to a nice spring

15.01.2022 Isolation project - Starting Weemala Just Ruby! Going well with her first little ride in the round yard this morning! Very smart filly this one, relaxed and calm!

11.01.2022 Sandi, her dog and her pony

11.01.2022 Isolation project #???(lost count) Weemala Prelude aka PJ having a little training session

11.01.2022 Going into the office today for the first time in over 6 weeks! Two things I have noticed before leaving the property are OMG my work clothes are tight and crap traffic update on the radio is not promising! Can I go back into my little comfort bubble lol

10.01.2022 The Cauliflower has sprouted

09.01.2022 2020/21 Breeding Season Special 25% off Service Fees

08.01.2022 A lovely update from Casey and Weemala Rendezvous looking like quite the dressage pony!! Pretty happy to have my special girl back in work. Ive honestly never had a horse with a better temperament then her ... So lovely to hear from our kids

07.01.2022 Our run of bad luck of horses hurting themselves (or being sick) continues! After Faith tearing some serious groin muscle (will know more when we get a chance to image) the latest is our poor/sweet little WB colt who we assume tried out a practise jump with a horse on the other side of the fence that didnt go to plan (yes he is a colt and we should have known that colts will be colts at an early age, however this guy has not been colty at all and we only assume this is what happened due to his injuries)! A nice stake wound to his inner thigh and some scratches here and there - a lucky boy! He sure doesnt feel lucky this morning

06.01.2022 Weemala Mighty Mo Our first attempt at Canter Half Pass (on a horrible windy day!!) So glad Michael Godding can continue to work and is able to come to us for lessons. Momo is turning into a fat dressage pony!!! But so happy & excited with our progress https://youtu.be/HkeK1qumy5U

05.01.2022 Weemala Mighty Mo schooling the 2 star combination on the hill. Momo is really starting to love the cross country I think! There were lots of woohoo moments today

04.01.2022 First 2 kids are without their mummies and back in the big paddock with the others - no dramas as long as there is food

04.01.2022 MHAA 2020 Photo Show ribbons and trophy arrived and we finally got a chance to put a few on the ponies Very proud of all our crew

03.01.2022 Weemala Lane Driveways at dawn Anzac Day 2020

03.01.2022 A small snippet of Weemala Cougar at her lesson yesterday with classical coach Michael Godding, she looked fantastic and felt so light when I got on! This is the oldest progeny of our stallion Moonbah Fortune Cookie and we are excited to watch her mature!

03.01.2022 A great outing to EP today. Weemala Cougar has a spin around a few cross country fences.

03.01.2022 After 20 years of very hard work - it might nearly be time to upgrade- legs are falling off the wheelbarrow and the easy start lawn mower doesnt want to start, the wheels are falling off and the case is cracking!!! Sad day

03.01.2022 Just over 6 years ago a young girl came to see us in the hopes of buying her first horse. She purchased Spirit of the Sun (Katie) our little thoroughbred mare and over the years we have become great friends with her and her family. Katie is still with her as a now retired paddock pony, that young girl is now a lovely young lady and we are still great friends with her & her family. We are very excited to announce that Bree Schramko is now the proud owner of Weemala Prelude and an official member of the Weemala family! We are super excited to see this new partnership evolve and grow and know that PJ will be spoilt & loved.

02.01.2022 Weemala Faith has to take a trip to town today for a visit to the vet. A quick stop at equestrian park on our way

01.01.2022 Super proud of our home bred ponies today both appeared to love the wet muddy conditions ! MoMo just keeps on delivering with a first and second in his novice tests and cracking a 70%! Cougs (Moonbah Fortune Cookies oldest progeny) was just a little champ 4th in her 1A test, stood around in the rain for hours, zipped in for a quick jump round then a saddle change and a calm and relaxed prep test - scoring an awesome 69% and a blue ribbon! Again this stunning girl turned heads and proudly represented the Morgan breed!!

01.01.2022 The second batch of apple, tomato, mint chutney using tomatos that popped up on there own in the garden.
