16.01.2022 Some people just lose the health lottery. Jenny was that person. Suffering for many years with increasingly bad health (and correspondingly poor mobility and dexterity), she threw herself into many forms of craft. Vibrant, intelligent, loved, creative. We Empty Houses were honoured to be able to help distribute Jennys multitudes of craft items to like minded community groups. Tools were donated to the Mens Shed, many craft items were gladly received by a newly formed CWA group and the remainder given to a St Vinnies. Jenny wouldve wanted that.

06.01.2022 Sarah had to go into supported accommodation as she was falling over too often. Sarahs health was getting worse. WE EMPTY HOUSES measured up the new place to see which of the old furniture could be utilised and re-homed the rest. We packed up her clothes and donated unwanted items to the charity of Sarahs choice. After Sarah had moved out, we cleaned up the old place and readied it to sell.

04.01.2022 This deceased gent collected all his wish bones in a lovely container for many, many years. They did not smell nice. Not nice at all.

04.01.2022 Did you know theres a clutter-hoarding scale?

03.01.2022 Dont put it down, put it away! If youre moving house or going into somewhere smaller there are a few jobs that are both easy to do and that take minimal effort. 1. Decide on what goes where, and stick to it. For example all scissors go in the second drawer.... 2. As youre walking around your house, put all scissors from anywhere in the house, directly into the second drawer. Dont just put them down willy nilly, put them in the second drawer every time! 3. When you get to packing up phase, you can decide if you really do need 10 pairs of scissors or maybe 1 or 2 will fulfil all cutting purposes. The rest can can be donated. (See my other article on where to donate things for more guidance). Its only a small action, but everything ads up to a tidy house, a reduction in clutter, and a smoother move at the end of the day!

01.01.2022 Jude had a very bad back. Jude hated the clutter but a painful back made even the smallest of movements very painful. To keep it tidy (and to keep her sanity), Jude hired WE EMPTY HOUSES to get things back under control. Jude took over from here and was happy again.
