17.01.2022 Often I was asked to explain "what is biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST)". Sometime I found it difficult to give an answer that would give the therapy its full justice. To simply outline the mechanics of the therapy would miss out the very thing that attracted me to the therapy, of the teachings and the wisdom that I am so privileged to receive each time I give a session. So, here are some thoughts I have of it that perhaps I could share with you: The idea of an "eve...r-present health" is a central one in BCST. Health is always with us at every stage of our lives, and that there is an intelligent force within the body that will always try to return the body to that state of being. Health can never be lost even through the most severe illness or adverse circumstances. So in a way, BCST is a therapy not so much about fixing any illness or diseases, but rather, it is about remembrance and the returning to our original blueprint of wholeness and health. In this approach, the patients are empowered during the treatment, and the therapists could only respect and be in awe of patients’ process of healing. Both, are on an equal ground. To facilitate a set of favourable conditions for the health to re-emerge within the body, there has to be a right relational field established between the therapists and clients. All of life is relational. We exist in interdependence. According to one of the leading BSCT teachers Franklin Sills. There is much resonance between the two systems (the therapist and the patient) at work. It reminds us that all things are interconnected, and that we, as the therapists have to remove our egos to create the right listening field. The right listening field is one of empathy, presence, and centered in the heart. This field holds the present moment, from which the healing unfolds. In this approach, we don’t need to go into a linear cause/effect, or delve into the linear story line of the patient’s suffering. The power lies simply in the present moment.
