25.01.2022 I arrived late late in the evening, the wind was pounding the trees on the way in. Gum trees clashing high above. Branches were dropping all around, not knowing where they were going to land next, I decided to hit the gas, I knew my destination was close, I had been there before. Then, silence, the cluster of large Fir trees halted the storm, a calm entered the space and then, it started to snow. It was something out of a story book.
23.01.2022 One of my favourite moments, the first burn. Watching the colours change and the contrast take shape is mesmerising. It’s also not a bad view from the office the Queenstown backdrop was a perfect setting for this work.

17.01.2022 Traditionally my works are quite large, I spend hours and days searching the forests and land for fallen trees. Wall space in homes is valuable and balance is Important, which is why I have made smaller works. This work has a beautiful and interesting shape. ... The tree was found in the Blue Mountains north west of Sydney in the Jenolan forest. 17.01.2022 The decay spun from the centre out, I have never worked on a stump like this before, it presented many challenges but offered a beautiful, interesting shape. This fir, found on top of the tops in the Barrington tops NP had some of the most impressing growth rings, I would love to work on another Fir in the future.

04.01.2022 Mixing up the saws, the two man crosscut saw is a lot of fun but still hard work.
