25.01.2022 Just a reminder to our wonderful Weipa BMX community that all committee positions will be open for nominations this Friday at the AGM following our breakup. We're fortunate to have the range of activities that we have in our remote town, but this can't happen without volunteers. Serving in a committee is a great opportunity to make friends, refine skills and give back to our community. We will be looking to fill the following volunteer committee positions for the 2020 racin...g season: President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Track Maintenance Coordinator Canteen Coordinator Fundraising Coordinator Registrar Volunteer Coordinator Please email [email protected] or PM this page if you would like a detailed role description.

25.01.2022 Welcome to 2020! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for all the updates as we begin to head into the racing year (as soon as wet season allows)... We are aiming for our first track openings in May.

17.01.2022 Good morning Weipa BMX families- below is Monday's update from BMXQ: "Dear Zone and Club Committees, BMX Qld have been working on a generic COVID Safe Plan and template for BMX Clubs, and with the Stage 2 timeline being bought forward, it will be presented to the Board for approval at tonights BMX Qld Board meeting. BMX Qld will release the COVID Safe document to the Zones and Clubs by the end of the week. We appreciate you patience as we work through the changes that are r...eleased almost daily by the State government. We are endeavouring to cover all our clubs and members responsibilities in this document. The Stage 2 restrictions allow 20 people to a gathering and community sports to organise gatherings of 20 people whilst adhering to the social distancing regulations and hygiene procedures. Once again, Thanks you for your patience and understanding. Thanks, Kind regards, Juanita Paton | President | BMX Queensland Inc." Looking forward to racing alongside you all- and will post here once we have a bit more clarity/ a go-ahead for racing. Weipa BMX

13.01.2022 You might have seen a little bit of movement at the track this week With a few fellas working to tame the jungle and extend the spectator hill. Big thanks to Scott Barton, Coates Hire (for the backhoe), Jefferson for operating it, and Nathan from Prestige Pools for the mowing. We need the dirt to dry out a bit before the hill can be completed, ready for a racing at the end of May (virus permitting).
