25.01.2022 Our kids were inspired by #andywarhol pop art in Term 4 - we loved seeing how many bright colours and bold motifs were used Heres a selection of some perfect patching by Valentina, Jemima & Charlotte! Wed also like to take a moment to thank our amazing 2019 kiddies and parents! You are an inspiration to us and bring us joy in the @sew_and_co room each and every day. We cant wait to see you all back in 2020 and welcome new students to join our creative hub & club... 17.01.2022 Just a coupla cutie cosy creature card bags our superstars whipped up this term. This little project sprung out of our mini term 2. Like many, weve been able to see the silver lining of more time at home over the last few months. Our card bags were created to store a pack of playing cards to encourage games and fun over the school holidays. Fine motor skills, quick reactions, reading instructions, taking turns and memory building are just a few benefits of a simple pack. Finalised with delightful doggo designs were proud as punch of what was accomplished this term!

Starting from next Monday 1 June (and including the public holiday), well be opening a fresh new mini term of sewing and woodworking. Its the same, same, but different. As mentioned recently via @abcnews_au: State School Teacher's Union WA (SSTUWA) president Pat Byrne said research had shown play-based learning was better for children in terms of wellbeing, academic outcomes, problem-solving and social skills... 09.01.2022 To our wonderful community Wed wish we could say were open for Term 2! But sadly, not just yet... Next week will start the journey of schools beginning to reopen but the time isn't right for Sew & Co + Chip & Co. At this point we hope we might be able to open during Term 2, however time will tell... One thing is for sure, we miss you all and we will be keeping you posted! 03.01.2022 Loving these little women by @_.baobap._ International Womens Day was yesterday and we spent the day in Melbourne walking, talking and enjoying coffee, wine and pizza Weve decided #IWD should be a week, so today were sending lots of love and a big shout out to our gorgeous @sew_and_co teachers @jonniegrl and @robutler_ Theyre taking classes for the next few days and our superstar students couldnt be in better hands Thank you beautiful Jonine & Ro for years of support, laughter, friendship and happy work. 01.01.2022 If you havent heard already... its with a heavy heart we have decided to postpone the remainder of Term 1 classes. Given this uncertain time we think the most responsible thing to do is close our program for the safety of your children, your family and the community. What does this mean going forward? For current students we will be issuing credits for the last three classes to be redeemed at any point once we reopen.... Thank you for the continued support of our small business at a very difficult time. 01.01.2022 Our goal is to create a welcoming space where kids can just BE Brené Brown says it perfectly: We must be guardians of a space that allows students to breathe and be curious and explore the world and be who they are without suffocation. They deserve one place that they can rumble with vulnerability and their hearts can exhale. And what I know from research is that we should never underestimate the benefit to a child of having a place to belong - even one - where they can take off their armour. It can and often does change the trajectory of their lives. We love celebrating our Sew & Co kids and their creations - but its the special moments, warmth, sharing, honesty, friendships and space to relax and flow which all grow from our classes that we love the most
