19.01.2022 Exodus Excursion The Exodus Foundation Kids@Weldons philosophy about giving back, supporting community and allowing the children to experience a sense of belonging. The children did this by visiting The Exodus Foundation. It was a great learning opportunity in relation to community and learning the importance of helping the less fortunate. The children took two boxes filled with food donations for the homeless. We walked to the Exodus Youth Foundation and as soon as we arr...ived the staff welcomed us and answered all the childrens questions. The children asked what services they offer, and they informed us about their food services, primary healthcare, and arts and activities. They also told us about people who come to sleep there in the hall if they have nowhere else to go. The children were very interested and loved the fact that they could help as well. #community #givingback See more

The children recreated their emotions using a mirror, loose parts from different materials and a blank face canvas. This was an interesting experience as the children investigated their emotions using the mirror to recreate it using the loose materials provided. We also began our workshops this week, which were... suggested by our children. Each day we either have Science, Art or a cooking workshop. One of the suggestions was to create some pottery using clay. This workshop carried on over two days as it was very popular by most of our children. As an extension on this activity, the children were encouraged to make flowers using craft materials to put in the pots they created. See more
