15.01.2022 After having conversations with the children about the importance of being kind we have decided to have a different approach to lent. Instead of giving something up we are taking something on. We have agreed to spend the next 40 days being kind to each other, using build ups by saying nice things and writing down all the kind things that happen to us between now and the end of the term. Our kindness jar is situated on the desk in the office along with a notepad and pen. Each time we feel someone has been kind to us were going to write it down and put it in the jar. At the end of the term were going share all the wonderful things that have happened at our centre. Please feel free to add things to our kindness jar if you see or hear anything that you would like to share with us.

02.01.2022 This week during vacation care at North Strathfield we had two exciting days where the children participated in post Easter celebrations and a sustainability workshop! On the 14/04/20 the children had the opportunity to create Easter bunny masks out of paper plates and were able to design their own individual faces! Our sustainability workshop held on the 15/04/20 saw the children able to try out their woodwork skills and come up with their own creation using recycled wood, ...nails and hammers! Some creations included shelves and figurines. Here at Weldon we are ensuring the children are practising good hygiene including proper hand washing and social distancing. We have set up our activities and spaces in a way to make sure there is good social distancing between the children and are sanitising any toys or tools that are being shared by the children.
