25.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day! We wish all the Dad’s an amazing Father’s Day and we hope you know how much you’re appreciated! The children made paper photo frames for Father’s Day which they can use to frame a special memory of them and their Dad’s.
24.01.2022 National Science Week! We made volcanoes out of clay and lava out of dish washing liquid, water, baking powder and food colouring. The children loved making them and watching the volcanoes erupt!
23.01.2022 3rd of July 2020 Its snowing at RLOOSH! We made snow out of shaving cream and bi carb soda. The children all loved mixing it together and making snow men. Lots of the kids wanted the recipe so they could make it at home

15.01.2022 5th of June 2020 Here are a few things that Russel Lea OOSH has been creating! From the My Time, Our Place Framework they have been showing Learning Outcome 4: Developing dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity. The children were very proud to show off what they had spent so long creating.

13.01.2022 Weldon Trivia! Congratulations to the children for their amazing effort in the trivia competition! Our children participated against 2 other Weldon services in an online trivia contest and came out as the champions! The children also participated in creating felt finger puppets. The children used their creativity and imagination in creating their own characters. Great work!

11.01.2022 Science Spectacular! This week the children had the opportunity to engage in a day of science experiments including magic milk, homemade slime and extracting DNA from a strawberry! Each activity was designed from the children’s own interests encouraging them to engage with the group and boost their confidence. The activities also allowed the children to build on their problem solving skills, ability to hypothesise and make predictions on what was going to happen!
10.01.2022 Spring Fair Yesterday the children engaged in a day of Spring Fair activities. We provided the opportunity for the children to create their own stalls including posters to advertise the products they were going to make! Some of the stalls included natural homemade bath bombs, body scrub and bird houses from paddle pop sticks! The activities allowed the children to work as a group building on their communication skills, teamwork and cooperation. We are so proud of what the children have made!

08.01.2022 Scrambled eggs for breakfast!
08.01.2022 Week 1 of Term 4 completed!! Who can believe we are coming towards the end of the year already. Our first week back we celebrated our friendships at OOSH, created rafts out of twigs we collected in our amazing play ground and started off our Halloween celebrations making paper ghosts! These activities gave the children the opportunity to utilise and expand on their creativity, confidence and interpersonal skills as they worked with educators and other children to create their own beautiful works!
07.01.2022 12th of June 2020 This week we made Jellyfish cups for World Oceans Day which the children enjoyed creating their designs and linking the paper clips to make the tentacles. We talked with the children about how we can protect and restore our oceans. There was also paper plane making, dancing and much more!

02.01.2022 29th of May 2020 Reconciliation Week The children enjoyed rock painting this week. They could paint the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags or just use the colours to make a design. The children were creative and used the paper towel to make the paint look textured. We talked about what the different colours on the flags represent and discussed what they new about reconciliation day.
02.01.2022 This week we have created some spooky inspired artworks in preparation for Halloween! Witches, ghosts and robotic hands are just some of the activities we have planned so stay tuned for more! These craft activities have allowed the children to engage in their creativity, inter-dependence and resilience as they are guided through the activities. This allows each child to develop their confident self identity!
01.01.2022 Little Farmers Sustainable Creations This vacation care the children had the opportunity to help Mrs G and Shaun relocate and replant rosemary bushes. The children were also responsible for watering the bushes throughout the school holidays. This activity gave the children a chance to build on their collaboration and co-operation skills and also promote our interaction with the community!
