16.01.2022 NAIDOC Week has been an enormous success this week at Wellard Primary School. This week has been a great opportunity for everyone to participate in a range of activities that celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme Always was, Always will be, recognises that First Nation's people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65 000 years. Yesterday we were lucky enough to have Noongar elders N...anna Roni Gray-Forrest and Nanna Colleen Castle as well as Emma Castle come and work with some of our Year 6 students to install the NAIDOC Sand Mural. Mr Gary Ryder also took some amazing drone shots of the sand mural. A big Wellard thank you for all of your time and effort. Our NAIDOC Student Assembly this morning was a huge highlight of the week. The students sang 'Wanjoo', a Noongar welcome song that is sang entirely in Noongar language. #alwayswasalwayswillbe #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek2020 #publiceducation_wa

Please remember to talk to your child about the Kiss and Drop so that they are aware of where they need to be collected from.
