Most of them kick over on January 1,if you haven't used this years benefits you will lose them regardless of whether it is is massage, chiro, physio, dental etc. https://www.hicaps.com.au/private_health_insurers

14.01.2022 How do you look after your feet? They, like the rest of our body, do alot of work and are often overlooked until something hurts. I too am guilty of this. Start good habits now and your body will thank you later.

14.01.2022 Kettlebells are the most functional piece of equipment you can own. This is a great article, if you want more info, follow the Kettlebell Physio for some great information.

13.01.2022 When I am asked what Myotherapy is,I sometimes struggle to put into words what I have studied. Myotherapy bridges the gap between Remedial massage and private practice Physiotherapy. As an Allied Health Professional with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy, we are one step closer to a career working with sports teams as Myotherapy is a blend of Remedial Massage and physiotherapy techniques. As a Remedial Massage Therapist we develop a treatment plan and working diagnosis from... subjective and objective examinations, much the same as Osteopathy and Physiotherapy. The scope of treatment techniques used to effect myofascial pain, soft tissue restriction and limited joint movement typically include massage, neuromuscular technique, myofascial release, positional release, muscle energy, stretching and joint articulations, all common to Osteopathy. The Myotherapy course I studied expands our clinical knowledge of anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, and range of treatment options. In addition to extensively expanding your orthopaedic manual therapy skills our Myotherapy course also includes dry needling, strapping and taping, corrective exercise prescription and the use of therapeutic modalities. I can also offer healthfund rebates with all healthfunds and most are claimable on the spot via the Healthpoint terminal, thus reducing your fee to the gap payment which varies between funds.

11.01.2022 We need to be more open to talking about and more aware of mental illnesses. We are human and things can go "haywire"in any part of the body, including the brain. There is still so much not known about this complex, yet amazing part of our body. Start a conversation. Listen to someone struggling, mentally. Now, more than ever, mental health needs to be spoken about. Don't be afraid to reach out for help or to help someone who needs it. You may just save a life.

10.01.2022 ANF is kicking goals worldwide! It may be expensive for a treatment but if you add up how much you spend on doctors visits, specialist fees , time wasted and medications it is worth it! #whennothingelseworks

10.01.2022 Alot of new clients have asking me, what myotherapy is. I only trade as a remedial therapist, simply because the healthfunds will only cover me as one or the other and I found alot of people weren't covered for Myotherapy, so I opted to be recognised as an RMT for your healthfund benefits. Here is a great article explaining the difference between modalities. Myotherapy vs. Remedial Massage... Do you get confused by the difference between all the various available physical therapies? Apparently, some modalities may appear to be similar in terms of the techniques being used and on the health conditions being treated. However, this is rarely the case if you take your time in investigating them more thoroughly. MYOTHERAPY VS. REMEDIAL MASSAGE It is understandable to be confused given that both physical therapies treat various non-specific soft tissue pain and conditions. The primary distinction between the two is that myotherapists use a much larger palette of tools. Myotherapists primarily focus on trigger point therapy but may also make use of other techniques like dry needling, musculoskeletal alignment, cupping, deep tissue massage, muscle stretching and various rehabilitative exercises. We look at the body mechanics and injuries a bit differently as well. I.E. a sore foot may be caused by an issue further up the chain, a thumb issue may be caused by the shoulder etc. I am also formally trained in Hot stone thermotherapy. Thus meaning I can use my skills to aid your muscular tension. I work with both my stones and my hands during a treatment, giving your body the ability to relax quicker and me to able to work deeper. It also makes the treatment less uncomfortable and your soreness post massage alot less. On the other hand, remedial massage therapists exclusively work with various manipulative techniques to heal and get rid of muscular tension and aid relaxation. Generally, the therapists only make use of their hands and, sometimes, they use oils and powders to aid their massages. MYOTHERAPY PRACTITIONER QUALIFICATIONS However, there is a lot of common ground between the two massage therapies. To become a myotherapist, you must first qualify in giving remedial massage, typically through a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice or Diploma in Remedial Massage. Diploma students can then choose for a specialization in myotherapy through the Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy). In terms of qualifications for either type of massage therapist, any person who has completed a course from a Registered Training Organization (RTO) ensures they will be accredited by the relevant industry association. This also ensures that health funds will also recognise the therapist and process any rebates to be claimed provided that they cover the modality in question. www.naturaltherapies page.com.au

05.01.2022 It is this time of year, things can get overwhelming. Christmas plans, parties, graduations and the list goes on. We are heading into our summer as well (not that we've had much of a spring),heat amplifies our exhaustion. Are you displaying any of these signs? I'll bet most of us are! Don't neglect your health for the sake of others. Don't burn yourself out, trying to be everything to everyone. You can't pour from an empty cup.... Stop. Take time for yourself. Have a coffee date with a friend. Look after yourself because nobody else will. See more

01.01.2022 Are your hands suffering with the constant use of alcohol based hand sanitisers? A client has put me onto Zoono. It kills 99.99% of germs for up to 24 hours. I use it in the clinic, I highly recommend it. Great for those of us who have sensitivities to alot of chemical products. I have a supply in stock if you would like to purchase some.... They also make a Microbe shield surface sanitiser that's protects surfaces for up to 30 days.
