20.01.2022 Restrictions around Australia are slowly easing with distancing caution. This can bring to the forefront mixed emotions for many people including excitement, happiness, fear, anxiety and uncertainty. Look after your self & one another. Now is a great time to; - stay aware - wash your hands frequently - limit exposure - spread calm ... - support those most vulnerable - check in with each other .... and with Yin being at its peak during Winter, remember to slow down, replenish your energy & rest. 18.01.2022 In Chinese Medicine, each season has an associated organ. Winter = the Kidneys. The Kidneys house our fundamental energy & are in charge of birth, growth, reproduction & development. A guiding principal in Chinese Medicine is that by living & harmonising yourself with the seasons, you are able to cultivate your health & prevent disease. Therefore winter is the perfect time to give your Kidneys some extra attention & love.... Overworking the mind, body & spirit easily impacts the energy & functioning of the Kidney system. Now is the best time to say a polite no to any extra commitments & indulge in some relaxation & self-care. Now is the time to R E S T. As the Kidney channel begins at the soles of the feet, make sure you always keep them cosy and warm, so no walking barefoot on cold tiles. During the cooler months we dont want extra cold entering our bodies, so this means no icy cold drinks & no cold raw food. Everything we consume needs to be warm, cooked & nourishing. Winter food is all about hearty soups & stews. The best ones for us during these months include sweet potatoes, squash, mushrooms, root vegetables & kidney beans. I hope youre enjoying your long weekend, wind back if you can

17.01.2022 Systematic review authors conclude that acupuncture is beneficial for IVF outcomes in women with a history of previous unsuccessful IVF attempts. Twenty-seven studies with 6116 participants were included in their meta-analysis. The pooled clinical pregnancy rate from all acupuncture groups was significantly greater than that of control groups. A significantly increased clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate was found for IVF cycles where two or more acupuncture treatments had been carried out, but not for one acupuncture treatment, suggesting that the number of acupuncture treatments is a potential influencing factor on IVF success rates. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31200701

15.01.2022 These climatic factors correspond to normal seasonal changes. However when any become abnormal or excessive with abrupt changes PLUS the bodies resistance is too weak to adapt to the changes, they can invade the bodies defence becoming exogenous pathogenic factors & putting the body out of balance. 14.01.2022 ** IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING ESSENTIAL & NON- ESSENTIAL BUSINESS** Question: Are the services provided by Well Beings Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, considered essential & can we continue to operate? Chinese medicine is a REGISTERED PROFESSION & is regarded as an ALLIED HEALTH profession by the Federal Government (AHPRA). ... Allied Health is regarded as a PRIMARY HEALTH CARE service & thus serving an ESSENTIAL NEED. Some of the confusion also arises from the words that are being used, their meaning & individual interpretation. Essential means ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY so if patients have a bad back or even a cough IT IS essential for them to get treatment. Primary is a ranking thing so whatever is deemed as first or more important. The (WHO) World Health Organisation regards traditional medical practice as primary care & the Australian government regards us as allied health and therefor primary care. https://www1.health.gov.au//NPHC-Strategic-Framework~phc-a Well Beings Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine comes under BOTH PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL for a lot of people. Prioritising your health & maintaining a strong body constitution is SO IMPORTANT right now, MORE THAN EVER! Supporting patients to achieve optimal health continues to be our priority during this difficult time.

03.01.2022 "They did not treat those who were already ill but treated those who were not yet ill. They did not try to put in order what was already in disorder but tried to prevent disorder from arising in the first place. Treating disease after it has arisen is like starting to dig a well when one is already thirsty, or only starting to cast weapons once the battle has begun. Would these also not be too late?" The Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic (of Medicine), 200 BCE to 200 CE.

03.01.2022 The cold & darkness of Winter urges us to slow down. By living in harmony with the natural cycles of the environment, this is the time of year to reflect on your health, replenish your energy & conserve your strength. Winter is Yin in nature. Its inactive, cold & damp. Remain introspective, restful & consolidate your qi through the season, in preparation for the outburst of new life & energy in the Spring.

02.01.2022 Winter is associated with the Kidneys & the bones, respectively. This is also why Winter is a time when Chinese medicine prescribes bone broths as nutritional therapy, as they are warming, nourishing & especially good for the bones. Bone broths are also powerful Jing tonics, as Jing is produced by the bones. Jing is depleted by activities such as extreme & prolonged stress, lack of sufficient sleep, working long hours & excess behaviors like too much drinking & drugs. Winter is the best time to supplement the bodys Jing supply & bone broths are a great way to do help to that. https://www.epicurious.com//food//beef-bone-broth-51260700 https://www.epicurious.com//food//beef-bone-broth-51260700
