25.01.2022 It really can be that simple.....the trick is to know what youre feeling as opposed to what the mind is thinking. For me its the same with what experiences feed my Soul or as I like to consider it as....what experiences my Spirit is guiding me towards....if it feels good do it, if it doesnt then dont do it...yep for me its that simple. The Camino was one of those experiences, it didnt make sense to the mind, come on, 800 bloody kms, what is wrong with a poolside bar wom...an! But there was a desire higher than the mind, this voice that kept softly chanting Camino, Camino, 800kms, You can do it, You have to do it......and when I listened to this voice it felt good, there was a tingle in my heart. I followed that higher voice and had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. If you have a voice inside that is chanting Camino or Adventure or Freedom or just "do something that Scares you, get out of your comfort zone".....then maybe our Camino Yoga Hike in September could be for you. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/yoga-hike-on-the-camino-/ See more

24.01.2022 If you need some down time from wondering how long ago it was you washed your hands or you simply need a break from thinking anything.....Ill be doing a virtual Yoga Flow class this arvo at 5.30pm. This will be followed by a few more classes this week - you can join me for any or all of these classes, and receive recordings of them for use at anytime across the week. Without trying to sound like the $2 man....you get all this for just $9 per week. Yep thats pretty cheap, not because the classes arent good, but because I think we all need yoga, especially now, so I dont want money to be the deciding factor. The newsletter has more info. Stay safe, stay sane

24.01.2022 And in a blink of an eye January is nearly over..blink another 10 or so times and were talking Christmas again. It goes fast..I turn 60 this year and Im not stressed about the number its just that its gone fast, the last decades gone fast. So how do I slow it down, by being present and by making every year, every month, every day count, well at least as best I can. Making this year count will include another couple walks on the Camino, the first one scoping out the Por...tuguese Costal Way with the view of taking a group along it in 2021. Ill then wander around Europe for a couple weeks and then head to Paris end of August to meet up with the group that Im taking on the first part of the Camino French Way. Ive still got a few spaces left in this group so if you want to squeeze every last bit out of this year, you love exploring, you love walking, you love growing and knowing yourself then maybe one of those spaces is for you. Check out our website for more details or PM me to catch up to chat. You may like to check out some of my posts from my 2019 walk to give you some idea of what it could be like for you. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/yoga-hike-on-the-camino-/ See more

23.01.2022 My Lunchtime Yoga classes were going to commence again next week but Ive decided to hold a class this Wednesday (January 8th) at 12.10pm with all money going to the Australia Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. So come along, do some good for yourself and others. You can use your lunchtime tickets or bring cash - $10 - and maybe a bit extra to throw into the pot. Where - Mead Hall, Flinders St Baptist Church 65 Flinders St, Adelaide.... Cost - $10 http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/wellbeing-at-work-yoga-c/

23.01.2022 After 17 years of teaching Lunchtime classes in the Flinders St Hall I have decided to pack up the Lunchbox. The current environment means that these classes are no longer viable and perhaps not even relevant. I dont see this as a sad or bad decision, it is simply a case of going with the flow..this is what life has brought in and for now Zoom is the best way for me to deliver Yoga to you. Im adding a few more Zoom classes for those who get home from work after 6pm - so ...now you have a choice each week of six live classes and a stack of recorded classes all for the very low cost of $9 per week.....come on that is crazy you say! And yes it may well be but we are in crazy times, and crazy times demand crazy prices..... If you are keen to join me heres the info. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/wellbeing-at-work-yoga-c/ Oh and feel free to share....saves me having to pay Facebook to get the message out....much appreciated

23.01.2022 Ive got a confession to make, and I know this wont be a surprise for any of you who read my Camino posts but Im not always feeling the calm and serene of my profile photo, in fact sometimes I can feel antsy, and sometimes very antsy! So when I feel like this I can often turn it around by getting on my mat and becoming more aware/present/calm through my yogaaaahh But sometimes the only thing that works is to drag the mind (and butt) up a big hill, one step after another,... one jagged exhale after another, until finally the mind looks up to see the beauty around..and it quietens down, it pulls itself out of the loop it was in and smiles..and I feel good. I believe so strongly in the combination of yoga and walking for the wellbeing of my mind and body, for me its like they are interwoven, I cant have one without the otherand combined they give me the freedom to follow my heart..which is sometimes to walk a few kms across a foreign country. Why am I telling you this? Because I feel Ive dropped the ball a bit with my Yoga Hikes and Wellbeing Walks (and any other catchy name I can think of for Yoga and walking and talking and coffee and feeling good).but they are coming back! I will have dates for a couple Saturday and/or Sunday Yoga Hikes/Wellbeing Walks soon (Im sure I will have decided on a name by thenperhaps let me know what you like best) and I will have a weekend Walk for end of Sept or Oct somewhere in this fabulous state of ours. And when the time is right I will be taking a group on the Camino again. The following video is from my walk today up Lofty(yes I was feeling antsy) even the Kookaburra had a laugh at my expense.

23.01.2022 I like this a lot

23.01.2022 I took this video on my walk around Granite Island on Monday. The waves captivated me, they were in no hurry, they didnt push their way to the front, they didnt care if they were big or small, they didnt need to make a splash, they flowed in and they flowed out. Just watching them gave me peace.

22.01.2022 May not always be blue skies but there can always be beauty.

22.01.2022 As you may know I do love Yoga and I also really like walking, a lot! And I really like the fact that Yoga helps my walking and walking helps my Yoga....I see them as the perfect combination for my physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Which is why for the past few years I've been running a Yoga Walking group. Basically it's a 10 week program of a weekly Yoga and Walking session, with three longer weekend walks across the 10 weeks. Including are Zoom and recorded classes ...and I work with participants to build their practice. We also do a bit of talking and supporting of each other. One of my groups from a couple years ago still meet most Saturdays to hike and every now and then catch up for a dinner. It's good program, even if I say so myself. If you're interested my next group starts on Jan 28th. PM me for details or to book. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au//yoga-walking-10-week-p/ See more

22.01.2022 As much as I would have loved to be walking a path in Spain this year, I am so very grateful to be living in Adelaide....and now that Spring is here, I am even more so. Im also grateful for my Yoga and my hiking, I actually think of hiking as part of my yoga practice, just one I do off the mat and in nature. I know that this winter wouldve been so much tougher without these practices. This Spring I will be sharing my love of yoga, walking and nature through a series of Yog...a Hikes and Wellbeing Walks. Ill also be running a 10 week Yoga Walking program. All of these sessions are aimed at strengthening your physical and mental health and building your wellbeing. If youd like to know more please check out the details and either email or PM to book. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/yoga-hikes-on-sundays/ http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au//yoga-walking-10-week-p/ See more

21.01.2022 I wrote the following yesterday in support of someone dealing with some stuff.....I thought it was worth sharing for anyone who may be in the same boat. Bullies only power is in you caring what they think about you....and how ridiculous is it to allow your mind to consider important what another limited mind thinks...thoughts arent real...bullies power isnt real. Keep soaring with the unlimited power of your spirit...cos that shits real! The following shots are of the day I took the alternative route, and ended up completely alone on the track going up and up and up.....it was this day when I really understood the power of our spirits....and I can guarantee if you can quieten the mind and tap into this power, theres not a bully on the planet that can limit you.

20.01.2022 Saturday hike in the foothills with some lovely yogis, a crisp winters day in our beautiful city of Adelaide.....it doesnt get much

20.01.2022 The following is from Day 27 of my Camino last year "I also miss wearing jeans and boots and pretty much anything other than my three outfits and hiking boots and rubber thongs (flip flops for my not Aussie friends). I also miss washing and drying my hair and putting on a bit of makeup to go and see a gig with people I know and love, actually I miss seeing people I know and love.......but having said all this, every second of not having these things is worth it for what Im ...experiencing and for how much Im learning now and will no doubt gain going forward." I woke this morning feeling the same.....it made me realise how much I learnt from the Camino and how much I am learning now from the discomfort and surprising beauty of these times. So today Im wearing jeans on my morning walk! Stay Safe Yogis....this too will pass

20.01.2022 Thank you, thank you for all the wonderful yogis who turned up for our Bushfire fundraising lunchtime yoga class today. We had 39 in all, they were packed in like sardines, on mats, blankets and up on stage. We raised $865 to go the Australian Red Cross.....and our closing Namaste had a bit of extra oomph to it....the divine in me certainly honours the divine in you!

20.01.2022 Afterwork Yoga,,,,,,one hour, once a week, straight afterwork, in the CBD and for as little as $11 per class.....thats gotta be a no brainer. So for those of you that tell me they really should look after themselves better, heres your chance. PM me for more info, hit the book button, check out my website or just turn up Tuesday or Thursday this week to try a casual class before the term commences on Jan 28th. And for those of you who think you cant do yoga because your too inflexible......you never ever ever have to touch your toes....that my friend is calisthenics.

19.01.2022 In the beginning Mothers Day to me was all about my mum. Then when I was blessed with Casey, it became about Mum and me and my beautiful daughter. Since mums p...assing the last few have been quite sad days, ones that Ive kinda swept through, trying not to cry. I still get sad, in fact Ive got some tears just writing this, but the pain has changed, its more about love than loss. And now with Casey having grown into this amazing young woman I feel a sense of pride and gratitude for being a Mum, having had this opportunity to shape and nurture another human, and to be so very proud of the human she has become. So theres all of the above, but today I also feel a sense of pride just for being a woman, to be akin with Mother Earth, to have these energies of Strength and Softness that are so a part of being female. To know that it is this Strength and Softness that is needed right now to get everything back in balance..by the way Im not excluding you guys, you also have this energy and its now time to tap into it. So today as we celebrate Mothers Day I want to throw it out there that perhaps we can also spend a moment feeling the love and then sending it to all the mums across the globe and in particular to our Mother Earth. 14.01.2022 As much as I would have loved to be walking a path in Spain this year, I am so grateful to be living in Adelaide, and now that Spring is here, I am even more so. Im also grateful for my Yoga and my hiking, I actually think of hiking as part of my yoga practice, just one I do off the mat and in nature. I know that this winter wouldve been so much tougher without these practices. And now that Spring is here I put together a some Yoga Hikes and Wellbeing Walks, Ill also be running a 10 week Yoga Walking program. 14.01.2022 I sent this out to my Yogis yesterday.... Change is inevitable. We can push against it, stamp our feet and refuse, or we can accept and adapt. Of course for many of us the accepting doesnt come straight away, and thats okay. Maybe we need to sit for awhile and grieve that which has changed, maybe we feel anger because we didnt get a choice on what was changed....and thats okay as well. Maybe we feel fear because we dont know where this change will take us.....and that ...is perfectly okay. And maybe at sometime today you get a moment when you can just stop, breath and look around. Maybe youll see something that makes you smile or just simply feel good, and just for a moment the grief, anger or fear slips away and you realise that in this moment all is well. And you realise that this moment is the only moment that is truly happening, and you accept that the future will unfold based on what you do in this moment. So, without prattling on too much....make this moment count, make this one the best you can, be kind, be loving, be witty, be generous, be courageous, be inspiring, be the best YOU you can be....and then do it again tomorrow and the next day and the next and the....yeah I think you know where Im coming from. You may not have control of the future but you do have control on what you do in this moment......and now for the reason I started writing this newsletter...changes to classes as follows Lunchtime & Afterwork Yoga As of today I have made the decision to cease all face to face classes until it is deemed safe for the wider community to resume. Instead I will be running virtual classes via ZOOM....Im still working on the when where and how but I expect to have the classes up and running in the next week or so. I will keep you updated via Newsletters and my facebook page. For those of you who have paid for the Afterwork Yoga term please know that I will be providing the last three weeks of your term as a priority. If you have a Lunchtime Pass I will be extending your expiry date so you can use it again once we are back to even better than normal with classes running at Flinders St again. So if youre keen to continue classes with me perhaps send me a quick email so that I have some idea of numbers etc. and tell me when the best time for your classes might be. Then download the ZOOM App via your phone and IPad/Tablet. In the meantime... We have some Salute the Sun videos, Desktop Yoga sequences and some lovely Meditations and Relaxation audios on the Wellbeing@Work website that may be right for your right now. Above all, try to stay positive and calm. Look after your bodies, be kind to your minds, breath, stay in the moment. Namaste Denise

09.01.2022 One year ago I finished walking a few kms across a beautiful country having met some truly special people. Each day since I have drawn from what I learnt....trust and courage. Get up, get your boots on, look for the arrows, trust in where they are leading you and have the courage to follow them. Get up, listen to your heart, trust in what it’s saying, have the courage to follow it

08.01.2022 Lunchtime and Afterwork Yogis....this is for you In response to the need for us to be aware and control the spread of the Coronavirus I encourage you to bring your own mats to the Lunchtime and Afterwork Yoga classes. If you dont have one I will have new ones available for purchase at the cost price of $15 I am expecting these to be arriving by Thursday. If you dont have a mat I will still have ones at class that you can use but it will be your responsibility to wipe... them down prior to use with the disinfectant and clothes provided. I also encourage you to wash hands directly after the class. I will be doing all I can to ensure the classes remain a safe place for you to come to and ask that if you have any concerns at all please contact me to discuss. If you are feeling unwell then do what is best for your body and rest at home. Remember that your body is an amazing vehicle that is constantly coming back into wellbeing, the best thing you can do for it is to work with it, not against it. You may feel that you have no control over this situation, but you do have control over how you nurture your body and Yoga is always here to assist with this nurturing.

08.01.2022 Why would you walk when its cold and drizzly you may ask? A reminder not to wish winter away, find beauty in the everyday regardless of whether the sun is shining.

08.01.2022 Some recorded yoga classes for you until I start face to face classes, yes face to face in the same room sort of face to face classes

07.01.2022 I went for a walk on Tuesday...I saw a whale, and I saw this...and I felt so damn grateful

06.01.2022 Yesterday morning I did my usual walk from Victor to Port Elliot for a coffee and backalong the way I pondered life, I pondered my life and pondered 2020..while walking back a pod of about 20 dolphins were rollicking around showing off for their human audience (if you look closely at the video youll see a couple). It was sublime.it reminded me why I walk so much. If Id driven to PE for my coffee I wouldve missed it, and I wouldve missed the opportunity to ponder my lif...e and to engage with the other beach dwellers.I love walking. When I told a friend I was going to walk 800kms across Spain along the Camino, he asked if they had trains over there, hes a bit of a smart ass friend. Anyway, if Id taken a train I wouldve missed the sublime scenery, the pondering of my life and engaging with other Camino Pilgrims..a pattern?...maybe if we are present, every walk offers a Camino experience. Anyway Ive finally got my website page up with next years Camino Yoga Hike details if you want to check it out. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/yoga-hike-on-the-camino-/ I also really love yoga and will be back at Flinders St teaching from Jan 15th.details on the website. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/wellbeing-at-work-yoga-c/ See more

06.01.2022 Up until an hour ago this was my spare room, and in 5 minutes, voila, it is now my Yoga Studio! I have decided to cease all face to face classes, I hope its an over reaction but Im not prepared to take the risk of adding to the spread of this virus in anyway. So I am going full techo and will be teaching virtual classes via ZOOM....Im still working on the when where and how but will keep you updated. Those of you who have paid for the Afterwork Yoga term please know that ...I will be providing the last three weeks of your term as a priority. If you have a Lunchtime Pass I will be extending your expiry date so you can use it again once we are back to even better than normal. So if youre keen to continue classes with me, place a quick note in the comments, perhaps even the best time for your classes and get yourself on ZOOM. Above all, try to stay positive and calm. Look after your bodies, be kind to your minds, breath, stay in the moment. See more

05.01.2022 We may not be able to walk the Camino this year but we have many beautiful paths here on our doorstep. If youd to join me for some yoga and hiking on one of those paths heres all the info. Buen Heysen.....mmm not quite the same.....may have to come up with one of our own

05.01.2022 New Years Resolutions seem to be getting a bad wrap these days, maybe its because people get excited on Jan 1st and then slowly lose the incentive as the year goes on. I love a good resolution list.in fact I even break mine up into categories (this wont surprise those who know me well!). Some I nail and some, well lets just say Ive still not taken a Swing Dance class. Every now and then one becomes the theme of my year.walking the full 800kms of the Camino last year was... one of these. This one kept me honest when it came to learning Spanish...puedo hablo poco Espanol....with saving money and especially with my health and fitness ..I didnt have the luxury of slacking off over winter, if it was raining I wore a jacket. This discipline was worth every second of discomfort..the Camino has became one of the most amazing experiences of my life. If your resolution list has anything to do with becoming healthier and fitter, travelling, meeting new people, taking on challenges or simply destressing and slowing down to really see the beauty of your surroundings then maybe something like walking the Camino will give you the hook to keep you disciplined and maybe like me it will become one of your most amazing experiences. Our 2020 Camino Yoga Hikes will take place September with the three months training running from May through to August. If you want to find out more come along to the info walk on Jan 18th 8am Botanic Park (hit send message) or if you just want some more info again let me know via send message or you can simply check out more details on my website. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/yoga-hike-on-the-camino-/ Feel free to share this postwould be much appreciated.

04.01.2022 Yesterday I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, Id done a practice Zoom yoga class....it was fine but I missed having my yogis there, it felt a bit disconnected....Im sure this will get better as I feel more comfortable with the whole online thing. Im doing a class for my Afterwork group tonight and next week will have classes for anyone who wants to join in...Ill keep you posted. Anyway as I mentioned I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and really a bit pissed off with the whole ...situation. I remembered feeling this way on the Camino, I started out excited about the journey but a couple weeks in there were days when I was just over it. So yesterday I did what I did on the Camino when I felt this way.....I washed my hair....and remembered how amazing this opportunity is.....when will I get this time again to slow down to a stop and just Be....suck it up Denise....this too will pass and you will look back and see how far youve come. Following is a post from one of these days on my Camino. Stay safe Yogis, this too will pass

01.01.2022 Theres been something pretty special going on in Australia over these past few weeks, one of our greatest challenges seems to have brought out the best in us.....and we will need to keep this awareness and action up for sometime yet. Maybe we will need to hold this awareness of and continue our acts of compassion for other beings, human and sentients, forever.....Im thinking that could be a good thing. Anyway, its good to give, it feels good....and its good to give to you...rself. You aint got nothing to give to others if youre running on empty. Yoga offers a way for us to recharge so that we can continue to be aware and act. So if youre looking to recharge my classes are back on Lunchtime and Afterwork. And if youve been personally affected by these fires or have been volunteering and you need to breath I am happy to offer free classes to you....just PM me. Namaste. http://www.wellbeingatwork.com.au/wellbeing-at-work-yoga-c/ See more
