24.01.2022 Whats better than eating healthy food??? When you get to make it yourself!!! Last week the Kindy room children participated in a cooking workshop with Deb from Kids Dig Food! This workshop encouraged the children to make their own fruit and vegetable pizza. The helpers along with Deb were able to engage all the children in the lesson and explained to them about safe food handling and nutritional aspects of each food they used. ... The children all had there very own knife (child safety knife), cutting board and plates to use. The children were given a variety of fruits and vegetables to cut or prepare and place on their slice of pizza (Watermelon). This was a great opportunity to continue to learn and use our 5 senses. Not only did this lesson focus on healthy eating but included aspects of literacy, numeracy, fine motor skill development and encouraging children to have fun with food and try something new! Get ready parents as Miss Dawn has invited Deb back in October for a workshop about lunches for schools!!

22.01.2022 A big thank you to all the staff, parents and community who contributed in one way or another to make our Grazing for Fundraising event this morning a success!! A special extra thank-you to Toni-Maree for her wonderful event planning skills at organising not only the catering and prizes but also for providing a beautiful venue for our morning! The support for this event has been amazing! With a lovely morning filled with food, friendships, support and family. We appreciate everyone’s input and support for this special family in their time of need. Once again Thank you to everyone involved whether you donated, organised raffle prizes, your time and resources or attended this event.

13.01.2022 A year already??? Where has the time gone?? Happy Birthday Wellokids!! 31 years old and still going strong!!! Another year for Miss Dawn to celebrate her involvement in the childcare industry!!!! Let’s see how many Purple Hearts we can get for Miss Dawn and the team at the Centre!!!

13.01.2022 FUNDRAISER ALERT As many of you know one of our families needs our support!! With the help of our staff and another parent, we have been able to organise a special morning to raise some much needed money for this special family!! ... On Sunday the 8th September we will be hosting a Grazing for Fundraising! A morning full of food, raffles and getting to know your extended wellokids day care family! We don’t just care for your children we become a family!! Tickets will be $35 and can be purchased from the office ASAP! If you aren’t able to make it but would still like to donate you are more than welcome!! ( anyone who donates will go into a special raffle!) We hope to see as many of you there as possible!!

11.01.2022 PARENT WORKSHOP Add it to your diaries or calendars!! We are excited to let everyone know we will be hosting an exciting parent workshop in partnership with Kids Dig Food about lunchboxes and how to make them healthy and fun!!... Our Kindy program recently had a cooking session with Kids Dig Food, and it was amazing! The children and staff were all engaged and interested the whole time! This workshop is open to anyone who wishes to get some fresh ideas on changing up your child’s lunch for school or assisting you in getting ready for your child’s first year of school next year! And maybe even some ideas for your own lunches for work?! Date: Thursday 24 October 2019 Time: 6:30pm Feel free to bring some parent friends along with you! Community members, past parents, everyone is welcome!! This is a once off opportunity and it is absolutely free!! We can’t wait to see you there!

11.01.2022 LEST WE FORGET A few years ago we started a tradition of holding a little ANZAC Day ceremony accompanied by a memorial. This year with the current situation we thought it best to continue this new tradition but change it slightly so the children can gain an understanding of why the community is still remembering our veterans and the sacrifices they made to keep us safe in different ways than we normally do. Yesterday the children at the service were able to help create our memorial of planting their self made poppies into our little garden. Showing respect and reflecting on what we have been learning about throughout the week. Next year we hope to hold our little ceremony, but this year we were still able to make our Centre memorial!

08.01.2022 We would like to Wish all our family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! We will be reopening on the 6th of January 2020! We all deserve a much needed break and quality time spent with our families!

07.01.2022 What’s better than one rainbow? A double rainbow !! As the kindy children played outside in some light rain this morning they were able to see a double rainbow in the sky! This lead to further investigation and inquiry about clouds , rain and rainbows !! Miss Teagan and the children did lots of research together using various types of media and technology throughout the day. To end off their learning in the afternoon Miss Teagan and Miss Katelin did a simple science ...experiment with the children called rain in a jar. They were so excited that they asked Miss Debbie from the office to come and look! The children explained to Miss Debbie, as they lay on the floor together for the best view, what was happening with a little help from Miss Teagan. Such an engaging day of learning and interest! Fun fact: did you know that rainbows are actually complete circles but we only see a semi circle shape due to the horizon?!
