24.01.2022 We are excited to be associated with the Kody Nestor Racing stable who have taken up our affiliate package for 2020-21. Kody Nestor is a big supporter of our meetings and their stable’s race will be featured on Day 1 of the 2021 Wellington Boot Carnival. 20.01.2022 2021 WELLINGTON RACE CLUB MEMBERSHIP The year has kicked off and we are can't wait to get back on course to celebrate another day of racing at the Wellington Race Club. The track continues to thrive during this wet summer and the big crowd that attended our Boxing Day meeting were in high spirits as we watched the horses fly around our iconic race course. "It's a credit to all involved who have worked tirelessly to get our race club up to the standard that we now operate. Th...e appointment of Dale Jones as secretary has ensured we have ongoing stability with our administration and we all know there is a significant motor on the ground to get the job done. Our Associates/Affiliates/Membership program has been a raging success an has attracted investment beyond our Wellington region looking to be a part of a proactive network striving for growth. Our next meeting is coming up and we want to get the crowds back to the track. 16.01.2022 A WELLINGTON INVASION AT NARROMINE It was a day to remember at Narromine on Wednesday for the Wellington Race Club and its local exports as they took home the last 3 races. Michael Mulholland trained a double taking out the last event with OLD HARBOUR as he was given an expert ride by Kate Bell-Pitomac to kick clear in the straight winning by a length. ... Mulholland’s other winner was ATHENA’S LAD in the sixth event but he also managed to run 4th as UNIVERSAL THIEF snuck in under the urgings of Kate Bell-Pitomac and completed the Wellington based first 4. Karen McCarroll settled in third with her mare Lady Riz and Not Negotiating was a narrow second for Peter Stanley and his grandson Dylan. The Stanley pair would not be denied a race later as The Long Run came away victorious by a head, it was a great Stanley family moment with Peter and Dylan combining with the added storyline of it being Dylan’s first winner. Expect to hear Dylan’s name often as he plies his trade as Kody Nestor’s apprentice whose stable is flying at the moment. A first 4 to remember in the BM66 Hcp (1600m) with Wellington trainer horses filling the 1,2,3,4.

15.01.2022 2020 VARIETY BASH A breath of fresh air hit Wellington yesterday as the Variety Bash came to town. The Wellington Race Club hosted a luncheon for the participants who are bringing much needed support for children in regional areas. www.variety.org.au... The Variety NSW Bash is a weeklong adventure with 300 new mates, exploring the dirt roads of NSW and the ACT. Along the way we visit some beautiful country towns, see parts of Australia you wouldn’t otherwise visit, and the best bit is supporting kids to get a fair go. We visit schools along the way and donate much-needed items and equipment so you can see how your hard work and fundraising is making a difference. The 2019 Variety NSW Bash saw 103 cars and 320 Bashers travel over 2,200km on dirt roads and through creek crossings to visit nine schools throughout NSW and the ACT, making donations to help provide opportunities for regional kids to get a fair go. More than $50,000 worth of grants were given to regional schools to purchase much-needed equipment such as coding robots, playground equipment, and literacy materials to help ensure kids, no matter where they live, don’t miss out.
