22.01.2022 The Magic of GUASHA

22.01.2022 Prior to my Auricular Acupuncture Exam I cried....the only one that scared me to that level. When you look @ the diagram you can understand why. Clinically I use Ear Acupuncture in almost every treatment because it's so unbelievably effective and therapeutic due to its direct connection to the nervous system

21.01.2022 There seems to be another epidemic going on at the moment....HAIR LOSS I am seeing a lot of it in Clinic & at the Health Food Store where I consult. The main 3 differential diagnosis in Chinese Medicine are Blood Deficiency - here blood is failing to nourish the hair follicle leading to hair loss. The other disharmony leading to hair loss is a Deficiency of Kidney Essence/Jing. The kidneys govern growth & development of the body. Insufficient Essence will cause the hair to not be adequately nourished. Hair loss especially in younger individuals may be caused by Blood Heat which leads to heat burning the follicle at the root leading it to fall. Sorry if my image isnt very clear

21.01.2022 Throwback Thursday to when I was able to treat my patients.....fingers crossed I will be able to be back in clinic soon @ Wellness Philosophy Acupuncture & Skin Clinic

20.01.2022 This is a recurring theme in Clinic of late. What could you be doing or continuing to do that is contributing to your health ailment be it physical or emotional? Are you continuing to eat that gluten pasta even though you know it makes you sick, are you remaining friends with someone even though they make you feel 'crap' every time you see them, are you staying in a relationship with someone whom only brings you heartache?

20.01.2022 The 5 Elements in Chinese Medicine Philosophy of FIREEARTH METALWATER& WOOD are fundamental in creating a continuous cycle as can be viewed in the picture. Wood generates Fire Fire generates Earth Earth generates Metal... Metal generates Water Water generates Wood Each element represents a season within the yearly cycle Wood - Spring - Birth Fire - Summer - Growth Metal - Autumn - Harvest Water - Winter - Storage Earth - Late Season - Transformation It shows us how the structures & systems of the body are connected to each other and that ultimately being out of balance with nature can lead to DISEASE physically, mentally & emotionally. Chinese Medicine Practitioners often use the 5 Element Theory to diagnosis patients and imbalances which are leading to presenting aliments.

19.01.2022 Magnesium is a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems that regulate diverse biochemical reactions in the body, including protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, and blood pressure regulation. Magnesium is required for energy production and the relaxation of muscles via its anti-spasmodic action. It’s a fantastic mineral to help induce relaxation during times of STRESS which most have been under this year

17.01.2022 In today's uncertain & crazy world I don't know anyone whom isn't affected by stress either physically, mentally & emotionally. We can't control everything however we do have power over what we eat! When stressed it's easy to turn to for comfort however BAD FOOD = BAD MOOD only exasperating everything. Fill your plate with "real food"

17.01.2022 CONSTIPATION ACCORDING TO CHINESE MEDICINE. According to Australian Health Government statistics approx 30% of the population suffers from constipation. Bowel movements are an important indicator of the state of the digestive system especially of the Large Intestine & Stomach. The Liver, Kidneys & Spleen also play a role in Bowel Movements according to TCM theory. ... Diet - Excess intake of spicy dry foods can dry Stomach fluids & the intestines leading to Constipation. Lack of Movement - Hinders peristalsis (contractions) of the intestines) leading to constipation. Lack of movement can also contribute to decreased bowel movements by increasing Liver Qi Stagnation & long term can weaken the Spleen. Excess Mental Work - Too much thinking & worrying affects the Spleen & slows down its role in transforming & transporting ingested food leading to decreased bowel movements. Emotions - The emotions of Anger, Frustration & Resentment stagnate Liver Qi leading to constipation (think small pebble like stools). If Liver Qi becomes instructed QI of the Large Intestine becomes obstructed. Not letting go emotionally often leads to not letting go physically = Sluggish Bowels. I often see this clinically when observing my patients personally traits. Hence for Healthy Bowel Movements ~ Eat lots of ~ Keep your levels up ~ ~ Practice techniques ~ Get regular Acupuncture treatments @ Wellness Philosophy Acupuncture & Skin Clinic

17.01.2022 Look at that stagnation clearance.....Nothing like cupping & acupuncture to clear Qi & Blood Stagnation

16.01.2022 As of yesterday Allied Health Practitioners are back to practicing without restrictions!!!!!! Call or Message to secure appointment times Thank you for the continued support

15.01.2022 Due to the GUT BRAIN CONNECTION there are a lot of digestive issues of late. REN 12 (the front mu point of the Stomach) is fantastic for settling down any digestive issues such as bloating, indigestion, pain, nausea, reflux as well as anxiety, excess worry and overthinking which in term leads to GUT DISHARMONY. I find this point on yourself start at the belly button by resting the palm of your hand there move up another thumb width and that's where REN12 is located. Press for 20 seconds while focusing on your breathing. Do this a few times to encourage blocked QI MOVEMENT

12.01.2022 A little moxa to nourish the Digestive Organs - Stomach & Spleen to not only assist GUT Health but blood production for a healthy menstrual cycle

07.01.2022 In chinese Medicine we view the Mind, Body & Soul as intrinsically linked, not separate entities. All aspects need to be working harmoniously for health & wellbeing to be achieved. QI (our life force) or flow of energy moves throughout the body via meridians & to these meridians ~ Organs, Emotions & Aliments are all attached. ... ACUPUNCTURE works to bring back balance and harmony

06.01.2022 Your body is always talking to you.....It knows what it needs

06.01.2022 How brilliant from @alpineangel Self Acupressure can be very effective at the moment to help deal with any feelings of stress & overwhelm. Start by pressing YinTang which is located in between the eyebrows for 20 seconds while taking in a few deep breaths. Then move to Large Intestine 4 which is located in between the thumb and second finger (in that thick fatty pad) press and hold for 20 seconds. Now move to Liver 3 located between the big toe and second toe. Slide down at the top of the foot until you reach where the two bones come together ( V shape) press & hold for 20 seconds while taking in a few deep breaths. Move to the other foot and then other hand. This not only induces relaxation but moves stagnant Qi!!
