Maybe after reading this you might want to start reading food labels TimTams : - Vegetable Oil: highly processed and inflammatory and most probably packed with preservatives... - Food Colours: Caramel III is the colour brown. It's 'natural' because it's derived from sugar cane, but what they do after that is not natural at all - Cochineal: Made from 17-24% crushed insects they mix aluminium or calcium salts to make carmine dye (bugs for dinner anyone - tasty!) - Annatto (also known as 160b): If there was one additive we could ban it would be this. It's a 'natural' food colour because it's derived from the seed pods of the annatto tree. Trees are natural, right? So they can class this as 'natural'. It is heavily linked to headaches/migraines and headbanging in children. Asthmatics should avoid. It is linked to hyperactivity, restlessness and we have antidotal evidence it's linked to bed wetting and nightmares. Today’s job is for you to search your house and find this ingredient. It's often in ice-cream and anything with a yellow/pink hue. It's sometimes in yoghurt, biscuits, breakfast cereal and often in things marked as 'no artificial colours' on the packet. We're not saying don't eat TimTams, this is up to you. We're just here to make you aware of the ingredients
