Bloating is inflammation in the gut at a cellular level. When food cannot break food down like it should in the large intestine, it tries to make its way into the small intestine. The bacteria that usually breaks food down tries to work away incorrectly in the small intestine creating gas that expands the stomach and drives inflammation. The inflammatory response can result in damage to the wall of the intestine. To assist you in trying to relieve the bloating systems: 1. Do a food diary to see foods that correlate with your bloating to help identify what is driving it. (Bloating usually happens shortly after or within an hour or two of eating.) Common culprits are wheat, gluten, dairy or sugar. 2. Withdraw the trigger for 4-6 weeks 3. Add gut healing nutrients, such as bone broth to repair the gut wall. 4.
