23.01.2022 Grief That Turns You Inside Out The Lie: Time heals all wounds. The Truth: The truth is there are losses you never get over. ... They break you to pieces and you can never go back to the original shape you once were, and so you will grieve your own death with that of your beloved lost. Your grief is your love, turned inside-out. That is why it is so deep. That is why it is so consuming. When your sadness seems bottomless, it is because your love knows no bounds. Grief teaches us about who we are, and any attempt to crush it, to bury it with the body is an act of vengeance against your own nature. If everyone felt, honored, respected and trusted their true feelings, this world would be a different place. Instead of reacting, we would respond. Instead of judging, we would see ourselves in everyone. Instead of consuming, we would notice that we cannot fill the gaping wounds inside of us with trinkets. ~ Alison Nappi https://bit.ly/1dq06bk Grief is not something we can wish away, but pain that requires we sit with it. 10.01.2022 "We are not bowed by grief. We are able to metabolise it into medicine for ourselves and our community' Francis Weller. Francis writes of the Five Gates of Grief which encompass all the areas of life where we may have experienced grief and loss. These include childhood wounds, physical illness, wounded sexuality, loss of health, loss of relationship, death of a beloved, the state of the world, war, damage to our environment, trauma and grief from past generations, injustices..., violence, loss of culture and homeland. Grief and Gratitude are intertwined and through the expression of one we more deeply experience the other. I am very pleased to invite you to join me in a Grief Ritual Retreat. This retreat will be held on March 27th and 28th at beautiful Soul Station in Raleigh. Based on the work of Francis Weller ('The Wild Edge of Sorrow') we will come together as a village and enter the sacred ground of healing. Contact details for more information and to register interest are on the flyer. See more

03.01.2022 The anima mundi the soul of the world is trying to speak. It’s telling us that its capacity to mend itself is at risk. And we are a part of the anima mundi, intimately tangled in this net of events. We think we’re somehow separate from nature because we live in cities, drive cars, and look at computer screens all day, but we’re still entangled in the earth. Michael Sendivogius, a fifteenth-century alchemist, said, ‘The greater part of the soul lies outside the body.’ My soul is entwined with those Douglas firs and the redwoods and the sorrel and the raccoon and the fox.
