St George Motorcycle Club is hosting the AGV PIRELLI Series & NSWRRC on ...the 25th & 26th July at Sydney Motorsport Park At this stage we cannot open entries as all permits are closed and will remain that way until we get further updates from MA / MNSW hopefully very soon..... In preparation of the upcoming event and allowing us to start planning, looking at ways to operate a race meeting under the the restrictions, what ever they may be. This will be a free service for all existing customers of Well Sprung Motorcycle Suspension to help them get set for the upcoming weekend and potentially tricky rainy conditions. 23.01.2022 PROWORX Racing conducted a full day of testing and development last Thursday, 11th June, at Winton Raceway. The day was the first chance the team has had since ...early March to get on the bikes and get cracking again. It was decided that the best way to get out on track again was to hire the circuit for the team, as there were very few restrictions we were required to comply with, and it was the only way that the team could meet completely. Current restrictions at ride-days do not allow for any technicians or other team personnel to attend, thus making these types of days, a non-event for testing. The day began cold but clear and dry. A great start to a winter’s morning in Victoria, but with the sun breaking through the mist early it led to a fine and pleasant day for fast riding. And ride fast they did. Starting off with a base setting from Wakefield Park, the boys soon got up to speed and the first alteration was to gearing, looking to find more punch off the corners and better top-end speed on the straight. Suspension tweaks were tried by a couple of the boys and then a major set-up change was instigated by Rob, one that he had been researching and planning for a while. First change was to Zy’s bike and he immediately reported a significant improvement in the handling of the bike. Luke’s and Joe’s bikes were next, and the entire team was circulating now at race pace. Noel’s bike was last to be set up as he had been spending the day getting back up to speed riding for the first time since November 2019. At the end of the day, Zy and Joe had both set new PB’s and Luke was easily circulating at race pace with more in reserve. Noel put in a full day and although a bit stiff and sore, he managed to get back to competitive times. Having achieved a good set up on the 400’s, it was time for Luke to break out the R6. He amazes with his ability to hop straight onto the bigger, much more powerful and definitely quicker bike and immediately get in some good fast laps. His style and speed already bode well for the step up to the 600 Supersport Class. Zy was also lucky to get a couple of sessions on the 600 and was also impressed by it. Look out for him also stepping up in the future. At the conclusion of the day all riders were tired but happy with the results achieved. Some minor adjustments still need to be tried but we have an excellent base setting now for the track and we are all eagerly looking forward to the race meeting in September. 22.01.2022 PROMO TIME: New gear review... So I have been fortunate to partner up with Helite Australia to test and use one of their GP-Air Racing airbag vest, and I've re...cently done over 150 laps at Luddenham Raceway to get a feel for it. The Helite Vest is just that, a vest designed to be worn over your existing race suit, meaning you can keep your current suit, which is a big win if you have custom fit leathers like me. The GP-Air is tether activated, with a lanyard tied off to the bike. Mounting the tether to the tank mount brackets worked for me, and I was able to move around on the bike without issue. With a 35kg pull force required to activate the gas charge, there is little chance of accidentally setting the airbag off if you forget to disconnect when getting off the bike (I accidentally tested this theory ). The best thing about this system is, like me, it is very simple. No ECU to reset, just a simple sprung trigger and replacement gas charge and the vest is ready for use again, all super easy to do and requiring only the provided allen key. Being made of very sturdy leather, with replacement wear strips on the most vulnerable sections, it looks like it will take a lot to take this vest out of service. With a bunch of track time under my belt wearing the Helite, I can happily say this is a great product which I'll be continuing to use in the future. I just wish I'd had it in the past, it would have saved me from the many, many broken bones I've suffered in the last 3 years... 21.01.2022 Pre season test report - Phillip Island Proworx attended the Official ASBK Pre-season Test at PI last week and the results were absolutely outstanding. The tea...m fielded 5 riders in the 300 Supersport Class and all were able to post some ripping lap times. Riders were, Luke Powers Luke Jhonston Zylas Bunting Joseph Marienello and our reserve rider Jake Senior. Over the 2 days, all of the riders were consistently in the top 20, in most sessions in the top 15. After both days (discounting the times of 2 riders heading overseas) our riders ended with positions 1, 2, 9, 12 and 15th overall for fastest lap times. We now look forward to the first round, to be held in conjunction with the WSBK on 27 Feb to 1 Mar at PI. Come down and support us and stop by the pits to say hello. These stock cartridges can be made to work very well with a respring, revalve and a bladder refill modification especially on the rebound side of things which is a common complaint with the fork. 17.01.2022 KTM Duke 390 OEM suspension upgrade. Road rider is over 85kg and something had to be done without breaking the bank. So, Race Tech fork springs added and a oil viscosity change helps the front end from diving and sitting down on itself even under its own weight. Stock springs are progressive and need to go. Preload added to the stock rear and a full revlave with the stock piston performed. Stock shock blows through the compression stroke far too easily and the rebound responded way too slowly. Once corrected these little bikes handle great. These mods give this bike an enormous percentage gain in performance without aftermarket units that are almost as expensive as the bike itself. 15.01.2022 Race Report ASBK Round 5, Winton, Victoria For this round the team had 3 guest riders once again, Luke Jhonston, Luke Power and Stephany James. Both Luke Jhon...ston and Stephany did double duty also racing in the R3 Cup. Noel Mahon (our regular team rider) also raced. Friday practice was a lottery, with rain and blustery, cold winds causing at times dangerous conditions. The day was eventually declared after a particularly heavy storm left standing water and creeks running across the track. In the first session, Luke Power took a tumble which sent the team into overdrive getting the bike repaired and back on track in time for the second session. All things considered, the day was not a total loss as Luke Power set the 3rd fastest time in the first session before his fall. Saturday dawned mostly fine and dry, although the track remained cold and greasy. Qualifying one was critical as the weather did not look promising and so every rider went out as hard as possible to set a good time. Unfortunately Noel Mahon took a fall early on at Turn 11 from which he was able to remount and make his way back to the pits. Minor damage only to the bike and the team was able to get it repaired and back on track before the end of the session. Luke Jhonston set the 3rd fastest time with a 1:34.197, Luke Power was 6th with a 1:34.474, Stephany James was in 23rd at 1:40.025 and Noel Mahon was in 29th at 1:43.221. Qualifying two was held in drizzle and the majority of the riders chose to wait out the session, hoping for a break, as it would not be possible to improve on the times set in the first session. The only rider disadvantaged was Luke Power who was displaced from 6th back to 7th on the grid. Race 1 was an exciting race with a freight train of riders from 1st to 11th (as all the races subsequently were) with passing occurring throughout the bunch for all positions. Luke Jhonston finished in 6th with a fastest lap of 1:32.518, Luke Power was in 8th with a best lap of 1:32.345, Stephany James secured 22nd with a 1:38.858 fastest lap and Noel Mahon finished in 25th lodging a 1:40.381. The first 9 riders covered by only 5 seconds at the finish, showing how close the racing was. Race 2 again had a freight train of riders in the top 10 spots. Luke Power prevailed this time in 5th place with a 1:31.637 fastest lap, Luke Jhonston was 6th with a best lap of 1:31.944, Stephany James improved to 21st position and a fastest lap of 1:37.248 while Noel finished right on her tail in 22nd and posted a 1:37.324 fastest lap. Again, 1st through 9th were covered by 4 seconds at the finish. Race 3 was another ripper, with constant jostling and overtaking amongst the top group. Initially a bunch of 11, it split in the latter stages into a group of 7 and another of 3. Luke Power again was the best placed in 7th with a fastest lap of 1:31.680, Luke Jhonston, having started well and at times challenged for 2nd place, eventually finished in 8th with a best of 1:33.046. Stephany James again finished 21st with a 1:37.618 fastest lap while Noel, again starting from 29th, finished 22nd and had a fastest lap of 1:36.382. Once again 1st through 7th were very close, this time covered by only 2 seconds at the finish!!! Round points have Luke Power and Luke Jhonston tied on 43 points in 6th and 7th places, and Series points have Luke Jhonston just ahead of Luke Power, 14th against 15th on 103 and 98 points respectively. In the R3 Cup series, Luke Jhonston scored a 3rd, a 7th and a 4th placing, scoring a total of 49 points and a 4th overall for the round. Stephany James scored a 17th, 16th and 18th places, scoring a total of 12 points and 17th for the round. The team is looking forward now to the final two rounds at Philip Island and Eastern Creek and more good results to finish the year. 09.01.2022 Ducati Hypermotard 950SP in for a rider setup with orientation for road riding. Ohlins equipped front and rear with the SP model have more travel than the standard model. Suspension and numbers were fairly good on arrival but rebound front and back was a little slow. Rider sag set and damper settings refined front to rear. Bike will be far more enjoyable now as a result on our bumpy Aussie roads. #ducati #wellsprung

Bike is for a heavier mature rider and custom shock spacer made to accept an Eibach spring to give a greater range of spring choice over and above the HRC stock options. 05.01.2022 Kawasaki ZX10 Showa BFF (best friends forever ) Now firstly these are a little battle weary so they ain't so pretty, but they are working as they are supposed to now after a full rebuild, vacuum bleed and refill. One had no pressure at all and the other was low with air in the system. To work on they are a bit of a chore and perhaps internal very complicated, but these forks once working correctly feel fantastic. 03.01.2022 Honda CBR250RR MC22 rear shock service and revalve. Compression and rebound circuits on these are inadequate for track conditions in particular the compression is way too soft. Adding preload helps the shock feel better but still doesn't address poor damping. Correct preload and sag, correct valving and oil choice are critical for proper action of the shock through its stroke.
