We got her next to the boat twice and with the leader pulled close we were able to cut her off close. 21.01.2022 In case you missed the IGFAs Greatest of All Time review on this catch, 15 years ago today, Sara Hayward caught the largest wahoo ever recorded in the IGFA rec...ord books. Her dad woke up early for the fishing trip and Sara was the only family member that woke up to go out fishing with him aboard the Pez Espada II. The crew had been trolling a Mean Jo Green lure out of Cabo San Lucas when the reel started screaming. Sara picked up the rod and after 45-minutes they were able to haul in the biggest wahoo theyve ever seen. This incredible 184-pound catch set not only the IGFA Female- Junior World Record, but also the Womens 37-kg (80 lb) Line Class and finally the All-Tackle World Record . 08.01.2022 CHANGE TO GAMEX 2021 RULES FOR USING NATURAL BAITS FOR BILLFISH GAMEX 2021 will largely feature the same sections and format as this year's event, however, one... significant change to the rules regarding the use of natural baits for billfish is being brought in as of the 2021 tournament. This change is - 14. Hooks for Billfish: When fishing natural baits (either dead or live) for billfish, anglers cannot use J hooks or offset circle hooks. In-line circle hooks only are to be used. J hooks are still permitted when fishing lures for billfish. Under this rule change, the bait in the image below (as an example) will be illegal. This change has been made in order to bring the tag and release gear regulations of the tournament into line with other leading tournaments around the country and around the world, and also to reflect the tag & release tackle trends used by most crews competing in the GAMEX billfish sections. The rules committee did consider that this change may affect some competitors looking to fish natural baits rigged to swim sub-surface (particularly in rough weather), however, there are rigging solutions for this with circle hooks and as such, this wasn't seen as a strong enough reason not to transition the billfish sections of the tournament to 'circle hooks only' when using natural baits. We hope you understand our reasons for making this seemingly small but significant change and look forward to what is shaping up as a bumper GAMEX in 2021! See more

03.01.2022 Marlin fishing is always surprising! Check out this guy. Notice anything unusual? For example where the hook is while he’s being leadered? I have pics of him ju...mping in the fight. Hook is there left corner of the jaw. Outside in. Somewhere along the lines it pulled and he stayed connected via a loop in the butchers twine. He dogged in there under the boat on the leader too (notice the antifoul rub line) but still stayed connected. Thank you mate!
