14.01.2022 When you’re nice and dry and sitting inside watching a summer thunderstorm in your sundress and the light turns like this and then a rainbow appears and you just run out the door ( probably leaving family all shaking their heads) ... but it was worth the soaking, AND 2 legs worth of major wheat-related rash! No editing here, it really was just crazy light. I can’t say 2 inches of rain has been good for the crops but at least the light was good!
12.01.2022 The Canola is finally coming off in the last few days, here are some photos for those who are always asking for machinery shots,
11.01.2022 The sky is changing here every few minutes, it’s quite fascinating. So far only a brief shower of rain, enough to stop the harvest, but the forecast is still talking thunderstorms. Not sure the canola will get finished today. This is wheat. ( I think!!) It’s ready as well but will have to wait it’s turn.
05.01.2022 The cow is a completely under-rated creature. Shockingly misunderstood, it’s even an insult. Being ‘a cow’ is not seen as a compliment but it should be because, wow, what a life! I am currently out in the paddock stressing about the chance of crop-damaging hail in that coming storm, but the cows know it’s coming and couldn’t care less. When the storm hits they rarely even bother to move under the trees, instead they just turn so their backsides face the brunt of the weather a...nd brace themselves until the storm is over. They spend the rest of their time contentedly wandering around the paddock with a human generally ensuring they’re well fed...and then go for a quiet trip before they age badly enough to starve to death due to the loss of teeth in old age. Yes, they’re an underrated animal, and one I should probably try to channel more... I wonder if it’s reasonable to make a New Years resolution on January 2nd to be more like a cow? See more
02.01.2022 Reminds me a little of taking school photos... ‘Ok, so who’s next for their shot? ‘
