25.01.2022 WAFC Community Football Update The West Australian Football Commission, as part of a national working group including the AFL and other State football bodies, is continuing to discuss the timeline for community football to recommence in Western Australia. While our State Governments recent decision to ease social distancing restrictions to gatherings of up to 10 people is an encouraging sign in WA, it is important to note that community football remains postponed until May 3...1st. This includes training sessions at football clubs. Players are encouraged to continue training away from their club, while ensuring they follow the Governments current social distancing guidelines. Please keep being patient and do not return to your football club at this point in time. The State Government, healthcare workers and everyone involved with football in WA have done such a great job preventing the spread of Covid-19 and this needs to continue to ensure we can safely return to training and then games when the time is right. We will continue taking advice from all levels of Government and medical experts so that this is done with the safety of all players, coaches, umpires, staff and volunteers as the absolute priority. We certainly havent given up on this season and, along with all participants and fans, are excited for footy to start again as soon as possible in a safe environment that meets the Governments guidelines. We will be ready to go when the green light is given, knowing that footy will play a huge part in reconnecting communities right across WA. We sincerely thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work through this process and will provide further updates as soon as possible. Please look after yourselves, your family and teammates. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the footy. Sincerely, Gavin Taylor WAFC CEO

03.01.2022 TeamApp Instructions - Important Update: A note to remind everyone about registering on TeamApp. The Club uses TeamApp as the main form of communication (for example for Club wide news, announcements and events such as Naidoc evening, Wind-ups etc) and encourages all teams to also utilise it. On TeamApp you will find all of our season fixtures in the Schedule section. This is in addition to the WhatsApp Group which I will use to send reminders out for each Round. ... If you were registered on TeamApp in previous years, you will need to change your settings to select access to your team, Details on how to do this can be downloaded from our website page: https://www.wembleyjuniormagpies.com/pages/team-app

03.01.2022 Less than 24 hours until the first bounce down of the season and we could not be here without you. Just a few quick points prior to tomorrow, which we would love for you to share with all our families. The bar is open every Friday night... NAIDOC 4th September Footy under lights Half time footy at the ammos Canteen The bar is open From tomorrow night, the club rooms will be open for Friday night football. This week we only have one scheduled game so it will open from 6-9pm. We would love to see as many people down at the club to celebrate the start of the season and cheer on our year 9/10 girls as they take on North Beach. From next week it will be open ~5-9pm. NAIDOC The club is in the process of planning a NAIDOC celebration for Friday 4th September. This was a highlight of our calendar last year and we look forward to having the Wumbada Dance Group join us again and share their culture. Footy under lights Now that the first 10 weeks of fixtures have been set, we can now consider opportunities for our boys teams to potentially move a fixture from Sunday to Friday nights. For this to work we need to know if your team is keen and the coach & managers are available to complete their roles. The club can then speak with opposition clubs to determine if they are also keen and available. We are really keen to have our boys and girls teams side by side as one club. Half time footy 22nd August The Wembley Footy Club (seniors) have asked if we could provide a team (or 2) to play a half time match during the A grade game on Saturday 22nd August. The seniors start at 350pm so half time would be approx. 430pm. The little league game would be 10-12 minutes. This is open to both boys and girls teams. If you think your team would be keen please let me know as we strive to create a stronger link with our senior club. Canteen With the restrictions that were put in place over the past 3 months the canteen has been put on the back burner. The committee last year determined this should be a whole club activity (rather than just year 7s) and funds raised reinvested into the club. We wold love for the canteen to be operational again this season and would welcome a volunteer to help coordinate this. I hope you have all enjoyed the school holidays and are super excited for the start of the footy season. Grant Landers President Wembley Junior Football Club

02.01.2022 Dear WJFC Parent Group, The committee would love to get your feedback on how you feel the club is running and we want your suggestions which could make us even better. We would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete our Parent Survey. It is anonymous, but if you want to go into the prize draw then leave your mobile number when invited to do so by the survey, just so we can contact you if you win. What can I win?... $50 Voucher donated by the Wembley Hotel Free WJFC registration for 1 player in 2021. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6CTT7LS

01.01.2022 As a great result of the continued cooperation between Junior and Senior Clubs, Wembley Junior Football Club are very excited to announce moving Girl's and Women's AFL forward to greater heights, in 2021. Our Junior Girls now have a well-established Community Pathway into Senior Womens, so that everyone can continue playing AFL in a fun and supportive environment for longer.
