23.01.2022 With thanks to the Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre and their initiative Our Kitchen Social Enterprise, we are currently able to assist our local community with so...me food aid in the form of pre-prepared meals each Friday. We have access to a limited so to ensure we have enough to go around it would be ideal if you could let us know of your needs . If you are in need or know of anyone who is, send us a message on Facebook, email us on [email protected], or call us on 5339 5069 by 1pm on the Wednesday of the week your meals are required. This allows us to ensure we are able to set aside enough for everyone to collect from us on the Friday afternoon. Please let us know of any dietary requirements as well so we can set aside appropriate meals for your needs. All meals will be available to pick up from Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre at 12-14 Violet Grove after 1pm on Fridays.

23.01.2022 Ballarat Community Health are holding a FREE special event in mental health which would be very beneficial to anyone studying or experiencing mental health, or anyone who holds a general interest in the area to gain more of an insight into how you can "be there for a mate" by being there for yourself first. This preventative mental health event is for anyone 18+ years, and focuses on the social and cultural factors that influence our wellbeing, particularly for men.... The full details are listed in this flyer and bookings can be made at https://bit.ly/30fPvww

So come on down to support the Wendouree Men's Shed.

20.01.2022 Is there any advice regarding the relaxing of the Covid 19 restrictions applying to Men's Sheds. My understanding is only groups of up to 10 people are allowed to meet outside unless it's for a funeral or wedding. There are exceptions regarding community Centres allowing indoor meetings of support groups. Would Men's Sheds come under this category? Currently trying to work out what our options are!!

19.01.2022 Remember, self-isolating and social distancing doesn't mean you need to be totally disconnected. There are ways to help you get through this difficult period and there is ALWAYS support available for those who need it.

13.01.2022 Today was a very exciting day, Premier Andrews announced that if re-elected his Government would provide $7 million to redevelop the Wendouree West Recreation R...eserve to include a new community hub that will be the new home of the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre, The Wendouree Men's Shed & the YMCA Youth Centre (including the ReCranked program). Our friends at the Forest Rangers Soccer Club will also be getting new club-rooms, upgraded soccer pitches and match-standard lighting. And last but not least there will be further improvements to the social, play and recreation facilities in the space. Along with Council we have all been working very hard with the community to create and drive a plan for the Reserve that will transform it into vibrant, active space that meets the needs of the whole Wendouree community. Thank-you to Juliana & Sharon for championing this project. See more

04.01.2022 Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre regrettably advises that due to the current situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19), effective immediately we will be closing t...he centre and the Wendouree Men's shed indefinitely. This means all activities, classes, and room bookings will cease until further notice. This also means that free bread on Monday mornings will also be unavailable until further notice. The health and wellbeing of our staff and community members needs to take priority and with the recent Government restrictions implemented there is really no other option. We will be monitoring the situation closely over the Easter break, and following all advice available to us to inform everyone when we are able to re-open our doors and resume as normal. On behalf of all staff and Management here, we wish you all the best during this time and urge you all to follow the advice given to prevent the spread of the virus throughout our community.

03.01.2022 Hi Fellow Shedders, The Department of Health and Human Services has advised sheds are not able to open (11th May ) There is no wiggle room on this. Sheds are a High Risk activity due to the nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic on older Victorians.... We will be specifically advised of when and how sheds can open by the DHHS. We would be best served planning how to reopen. - Cleaning regime, Purchasing Sanitizer, Staged attendance, Recommissioning of equipment plans Etc. Be aware if the shed cannot legally open, Insurance policies may not cover shed activities. I hope your patience will prevent any issues. See more
