22.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year with many services and activities being put on hold. One thing that has kept going with minimal disruptions here at Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre has been our Reading, Writing & Maths and Getting Your Learners programs. Our trainer, Simon, has done an extraordinary job in adapting to remote learning and at keeping his learners engaged while participating in regular activities remotely during lockdown. As the situation changed, so too did th...e method of engaging his learners. Perseverance and determination has seen Simon and his learners making the most out of what has been a fairly hectic year for everyone. Congratulations and well done to you all!!!

09.01.2022 Here at Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre, our Cooking For Community course has been back up and running for a few weeks now, and the ladies are doing a marvelous job. In these classes, participants are making use of our registered kitchen to learn how to cook in larger quantities, and also support our community’s access to affordable, tasty, and nutritious food. Some of the many delicious meals they have prepared recently under the guidance of our trainer Alison, have includ...ed scalloped potatoes, fried rice, and as pictured, corned beef and veggie patties with mustard sauce, and a very tasty looking apricot chicken, and this week, zucchini slice was added to the list. Cooking For Community is one of our courses set to return in 2021 so if it sounds like something you might enjoy, you can contact us on 5339 5069 or by emailing [email protected] to find out more or to secure your place in our small, enjoyable classes.
