21.01.2022 Friends of the Pound would like to make everyone aware of the DANGERS of LEAVING a PET unattended in a car. Any pet left in car will DIE within 6 MINUTES even i...f you have left the windows open. OFFENDERS can incur fines up to $550 and if the ANIMAL DIES offenders can incur a 6 month JAIL sentence and up to $22,500 in fines. ANOTHER thing to think about, If you DRIVE with your PET UNRESTRAINED in the back of your Ute you can incur an immediate $500 fine on the spot. If the ANIMAL IS INJURED or DIES in an ACCIDENT, OFFENDERS can incur a 6 MONTH JAIL SENTENCE and up to $5,500 in fines. If you find yourself in a situation where you see a distressed animal in the car, please stay in attendance and call the police or the RSPCA Hotline. Collection boxes will be at the front of the store with our incredible volunteers doing shifts throughout the day to collect your bags ready for them to be distributed to charities.
