22.01.2022 I have made my nomination official. I had to delete one word as they counted ‘evidence-based’ as two words to put me over the limit. I assure you, I will be making rational decisions based on the evidence I have on what is best for all of BUNBURY if I am elected. My campaign will be mostly word of mouth. As most of my friends know, I am very active in the community behind the scenes, especially supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our society. None of this work hits the headlines, but it is very worthwhile. Please share with all of you BUNBURY friends.

11.01.2022 'Communication leads to community, that is, to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing.' Rollo May For the past 10 years, I have lived and worked in Bunbury in local community-based positions. I have also been involved in volunteering on Boards and adult tutoring. My professional experience in schools, universities and other educational settings have given me strong negotiating, research and analytical skills. It has also led me to appreciate and embrace differences in bel...iefs, attitudes and cultures. I am an excellent communicator. I would love to see Bunbury grow in all areas population, jobs, businesses. To achieve this, we must make the most of our natural advantages as well as grasp every chance for new opportunities. Ratepayers’ money should be invested wisely and realistically, and for the benefit of the whole community. I would encourage Council to use more effective techniques to communicate and discover the direction in which the constituents want the City to go. Is it more big buildings? Better maintained parks and gardens? More footpaths? Better tourist facilities? Face to face conversations are the best way to find out. More opportunities for open discussions at Council meetings and briefings would be a good start. Being an effective Councillor involves hours of reading and preparation as well as good organisational and interpersonal skills. I believe I have the time, experience and ability to work diligently for the betterment of the City and its people for the next four years. Please take the time to return your voting slip. 10.01.2022 I have lived and worked in Bunbury for over 10 years and am passionate about the City and its future. I have always been an Educator, and currently work with vulnerable people. I am also involved in many community groups. As a previous Councillor, I know what it takes to represent the ratepayers’ views and will strive to be a voice for common sense and evidence-based decision making. I am a strong and vocal supporter of The Arts Better maintained parks and public areas, i...ncluding the replacement of old and defaced signage A more efficient train service Inclusion, especially of vulnerable people, in the community Basic services such as footpaths, roads and security becoming a priority Effective communication Improving tourism sites such as Boulter’s Heights, Big Swamp, the Maidens Activating youth areas Bunbury needs to optimise its natural features and strengths by targeting these areas in its budget. 09.01.2022 I will be there. Come along for a chat.

08.01.2022 By now, you should all have your voting slips. Please vote! We need more people to have their say. If you are kind enough to vote for me, encourage your friends and neighbours to do the same. Thank you all.

03.01.2022 The costs of advertising certainly disadvantage those of us who cannot afford to splash money around. Costs from over $300 for a small photo to $8,800 for a four-page wrap in the Bunbury Herald or South Western Times. I think I'd rather talk and listen to people which only costs my time!
